can the standard component cables from the PS2 (red, white, yellow), be used on the ps3? i am wondering because i used to run my ps3 off of ps2 monster s-video cables and it worked fine, then i was running it on hdmi thru a lcd tv.

broke up with my gf and she has the tv (i know, it sucks) so i only have the orig. ps2 cable... it's not showing anything on the screen... would there be a manual reset for the ps3's settings (for the audio/video settings to go from HD to SD)?

any help would be awesome, cheers!

Yes, the PS2 and PS3 component cables will work with both systems.

To reset the video settings, simply hold the power button for 7-10 seconds. It should beep, then display through the PS2 cables.

yes there's a manual reset I had the same problem (except for the GF thing that sucks dude). when you turn your system on hold your finger over the power button until you hear a second beep. hope this helps.
