Yup, sure have. My interest in a game is what convinces me to try a game. Not the opinion of someone else. Had I listened to reviews all my life I'd have missed out on a lot of games that I liked.
My interest in a game will always trump review scores, no matter how low the score might be. Likewise, if I'm not interested in a game that scores high, I don't try it regardless of how high the hype or score is.
yeah, spectral souls 2 for psp... one of the best SRPG for the PSP to-date... i wrote a review about it as well. It has loading issue, which is primarily why it got low scores, but with a little bit of "assistance" all is well ;)
Same with me. It really does not look that bad. And to answer TC, no I don't think I have. But it's not the look that matters in Lair's case, it's the play.
yeah i bought lair, it was okay. i haven't gotten very far in it so i can't really review it but i'd say maybe a 6-7 after first impression. the controls can be hard at first but aren't so bad after awhile

Well let's see God Hand(3.0 from IGN and yet one of the greatest games ever made:P), Godfather II(seriously not that bad:?), and True Crime NYC(first one was better).
But I still had tons of fun with them. And that's all that matters to me.:P
Umm when i was younger i bought quite a few games that were below 7.0, but i didn't check reviews when i was like 8-12(i didn't even have internet at the time). Just to name a few Star Wars: Masters of the Teri Kati, the first Crash Bandicoot, and Red Alert Retialation. And i loved every bit of them except Crash which was a little irritating.
Hell nearly all of my PS1 and PS2 games are underrated coz i hated FPS games when i was a kid and i nearly bought anything and didnt even know whats internet but i never missed the great games like Kingdom Hearts , Tales of the Abyss , dothack , and other good games xD
Cross Edge got a critic score of 4.9 even though the user score is 8.0. I consider that fairly low, especially for a game I think deserves somewhere between 6.0-8.5
Years ago. Lately reviews have been dictating whether I get a game or not, or having previously played it with a friend. I miss the old days when I didn't read reviews, just went into a store and picked out whatever looked the most interesting to me based on the cover, picks on the back, and description of the game.
