Gerard Butler as Nathan Drake in Uncharted Movie Adaption

Gerard Butler is the actor of the movie Uncharted

As we all know,the critically acclaimed "Uncharted" video game is going to be adapted into a movie by Sony. The news had been announced some time ago alongside the director and producers but one thing that wasn't announced was the cast. The protagonist of the movie,Nathan Drake. The much loved character's movie counterpart was not announced. One thing that hit my mind right after playing "Uncharted" for the first time was that Nathan Drake resembles alot to the Hollywood actor Gerard Butler. I know many of you might be thinking that they don't look alike at all,well thats what I am going to prove to you all

Nathan Fillion still would be my first choice, but I think Gerard could do well; better than Mark Wahlberg anyway lol.

Indeed, but delivery and presence can change a lame joke into a passable bit of dialogue or humor. I just don't think the guy has what it takes to flesh out Nathan Drake's onscreen presence. Fillion is a guy who can take crap and make it work. "Firefly" is proof of that. He has a way of working physically, to pull off the humor in a scene, via facial expression or slapstick physicality which I think the character of Drake demands.

Butler is an excellent action actor, no complaints there. But he won't have what the part needs, otherwise.

I'll probably avoid the film no matter who or what they do with it... I like the games and the characters as established too much to see it dashed on the rocks by the idiots in Hollywood, California. I'm expecting P.W.S. Anderson or (gasp) Uwe Boll to be attached to the project any day now...

I think Butler looks the part, but what about his voice? He has always had an accent when he talks in movies. It would be good to see Uncharted turned into a movie. I just hope they don't turn it into a diaster like many other movies based from a video game have turned out in the past. I look forward to seeing the first trailer!!!

Nice, we're getting a movie based on game which is based on Indiana Jones and National Treasure! The question then arises, why isn't there a 3rd National Treasure yet?

I don't think I've seen Butler in any movie (other than Phantom, which is just an average plot/story to begin with) so I can't comment on how he'll be (though, Nathan Fillion would probably be my 1st choice).

I suppose the movie has a rather good chance of being better than Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, and there making another IJ after that mess.

I'm assuming they got Butler since he's rather mainstream now after the Jennifer Anniston movie.

It probably won't be that bad of a movie, it'll just feel like we've seen it six times already (with the IJ/NT movies).

Actually Amy Hennig has stated that he's around his mid-30s.

And even beyond what Amy Hennig said if you do the math it's clear from 'Uncharted 3' that Nathan is well beyond his 20s.
