I just finished playing Dark Souls and its definitley one of my all time favorite games. Everything about it was amazing, especially the dark feeling throughout the game. Are there any games that have this same atmosphere? Thanks.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is not exactly dark, but it has some of the best atmospheric immersion this generation. If you like depressing futures, ambiguous morality and governmental conspiracies, then Deus Ex is a great choice. Plus it's fun as hell. Castlevania Lords of Shadow gets progressively darker and is extremely depressing, and is extremely, nearly obnoxiously, long. Heavy Rain is a pretty dark story as well. If you make certain choices, the ending can be extremely dark and dreary.

Not just for title, but "Dark Sector" is pretty bleak in it's outlook and atmosphere... I also champion "Alone in the Dark: Inferno" a lot in threads like this because it's one of the better horror games of recent years (even though the 360 version was bad, this re-working is really good with none of the issues 360 owners had with the game).

The Rocksteady "Batman" games are great too!

Hunted: The Demon's Forge had some nice dark atmosphere. And of course Dead Space.

Although I haven't played them, you might want to take a look at Condemned 2: Bloodshot and Alone In The Dark.

If we're talking PS3, Dark Souls / Demon's Souls is about as dark as it gets. However, if you have got a half decent PC, I'd highly recommend playing Amnesia: Dark Descent - now that is DAAAARRRRRKKK!!!

Which is not on PlayStation 3, though. The sequal is, but I personally didn't like that one as much (too much gunplay, which took away the whole 'condemned' feeling).

This is probably stupidly obvious and unhelpful but Demon's Souls has an even darker, lonelier, bleaker atmosphere than Dark Souls. Get it on the very small chance you don't have it already.

I would love to see "Condemned" on the PS3 (my lappie isn't strong and would buckle, even on an older title like that). "Condemned II: Bloodshot" was a fantastic, quite unique horror experience.

Bioshock

Condemned 2

The Saboteur

Clive Barker'sJericho (no, it's not the most awful game ever, it's just that the story escalates in tension but the ending ruins this build up)
