Well last year FIFA 08 was hit and PES 08 was a floop and EA says that it will only get better with 10 vs 10 Be a Pro!:D I love it they listened to us FIFA fans well I also kind of like PES before 08 but I'll go FIFA 09 on this one for sure! It will be the best yet!
I think I'll be grabbing pes, but I know their are plenty of fifa fans, so if you like online play I'd go with Fifa, but for me PES is a more "real" feeling game (and I just like solo play with football/soccer) when playing so thus I picked PES :)
I just read the crappiest review ever for FIFA 09! They said that it was too bad for their tastes because it was too realistic and they only gave it an 81, I don't know about you guys but I and many people get the fun from the realism.
He also didn't do his homework. In the last page he blasts EA because of the absense of a certain NBA Live feature call "Player DNA" . Well there is actually "Addidas live season" which is in FIFA 09. Shame really I question if this guy even played it as he praised PES and bashed FIFA.
Mostly because of the small dev team having to develop for so many systems.
Seabass (PES developer) said himself that we won't be seeing a true next gen PES until PES '10.
Though he said the same thing (about 09 version being the true next gen one) during the release of 08 version.
I'll buy a PES game when the developers feel confindent enough to say "We are confident this game will deliver on all aspects" and when they introduce more then just 8-way running.
I'll be getting fifa though i'm very dissapointed on the lack of features it had on the 08 version. It also felt clunky and the A.I has still yet to improve since 1999!
PES. If FIFA is going to be similar to UEFA, then I will just skip it again, and maybe get the PC version as I did with 08, to at least know why I still hate it. PES may lack features and graphics, but I still play for gameplay in football, not graphics. And it has Leo Messi on the cover :D (Yes, Im from Argentina)
Ive been a pes fanboy since the first pro evolution soccer game hit the ps2, and although i have been dissapointed by the last 2 versions of the game, the vids ive seen of the new pro evo look fantastic, a return to form, so im definetly getting pro evo. I downloaded the demo for euro 08 off the psn which was essentially fifa 08.5 and thought it was rubbish so im giving fifa a miss.
No doubt about it I'm grabbing Fifa 09. PES is lame...doesnt even have real names for players which i find to be ver important. Personally when I play as my country i wanna play with the real guys. Give me Fifa ANYDAY over PES in my opinion.

I'll definitely be getting PES 09. I've played all PES games and liked them a lot more than FIFA games. Even the last FIFA game didn't impress me. I don't think I'll ever play FIFA 09 since all my friends hate FIFA so much now.

PES= Arcadey from what I played in 08 but if you want to go realistic regardless of expirience then go FIFA it definetly played more realistic than PES 08 last year.
