Ever bought/not bought a game just because of its graphics?

Have you ever bought a game just because it had great graphics even if your'e aware that its gameplay and/or story is just par? On the other hand, have you not bought a game because the graphics are not good but you know that the gameplay and/or story is nice?

For me, no. I really don't care about graphics as long as the gameplay and or story is good. The only thing that matters for me in videogames are gameplay and story.

If the gameplay is good I don't care too much about the graphics. I'm playing a PS2 game right now with somewhat below average graphics and having a lot of fun with it. On the other hand, if the gameplay is poor, all the graphics in the world aren't going to do a darned thing for me.

I bought KOTOR I & II 2 months ago and played right through it, not caring about the graphics. I can't believe some people will only play a game cause it has good graphics. Some people say CoD 4 and Halo 3 have bad graphics.... what's so bad about it, I think it still looks fantastic.

The most important thing is gameplay. Graphics can only be a problem if they are bad in such a way that hinders gameplay. Rare, but it happens.

What cruel human would do such a thing? Not very nice at all. :(

I used to buy games for gameplay alone (NES and SNES eras).Now, a game has to deliver a descent story for me to consider it.Good graphics are nice to have, but not a necessity.

I would never buy a game just for graphics (although it's a factor).

I would however be put off a game if the graphics are quite poor. It just indicates a low budget and possibly rushed game.

graphics and story don't matter to me..

if they happen to be top of the line, that's great and if not oh well.. doesn't influence my view on the game..

I actualy got Crysis for the graphics.... But i just forgot bout the graphics first time i threw a korean trough a house in strenght mode :D

Yup, but I was never disappointed. ( MGS4, KZ2, and Dead Space) I didn't spend all this money on HDtvs and cables and surround sound to play/watch sub par anything. I want the BEST OF EVERYTHING... period. L4D and Halo3 didn't have a chance in my home, sorry. YoungSinatra25

For me Rainbow 6 Vegas was horribele. I played it for the first time a while after it came out and compared to MGS4 the graphics looked like a PS1 game. So I couldn't get into it. (just and example)

i only bought FF games cuz the graphics are amazing but they are still fun... and gran torismo 5 had amzing graphics to and was fun. graphics arnt everything but its nice to see a game with good graphics.

Yes, I can't play old classics such as System Shock 2, Clive Barkets Undying and Deus Ex because of the horrible textures with pixels big as my hand and blocky, deformed models.

I don't believe I have, but the games I buy tend to have great graphics anyway whether it's artistic or realistic.

I have no problems playing previous gen games as long as the gameplay and story is good. I just purchased FF7 in PSN 2 months ago and its still fun. The graphics didn't bother me.
