Hi Guys

I'm thinking of hooking up my PS3 to the net soon, so I need some ethernet cable to run to my bedroom, from my computer modem (cheapest way for me). Are all ethernet cables the same? Will any work with the PS3, does it needcertain connector etc.

Any info would be great!

The PS3 actually comes with an ethernet cable. Not sure how long it is though, since I didn't unwrap it. I'm connecting wirelessly.

If you need such a long cable, it just makes more sense to run wirelessly. Who wants to have a cable running through a hallway from room to room?

the point is that a $10 cable is cheaper than a $200 wireless router!

The PS3 comes with a fairly long cable. What's really nice about the one that comes with your PS3 is that its a CAT6, which is a lot faster than a regular CAT5 networking cable. It's the same plug in though, so it doesn't matter which one you get.

I just assumed that if you can get ethernet cables for ten bucks, like us, you could find a router for fifty bucks, like us. If I'm wrong, I apologize. I would probably not pay $200 for the benefits of wireless.
