Dualshock 3 not working with firmware 3.00 update

My Dualshock 3 wont respond to the ps3 after i put the update on but my normal sixaxis works fine.

the dualshock just flashes red then finally goes a solid red in ports 1 and 2. Is this happening to anyone else or does anyone know how to fix it?

How strange. Have you tried charging it? If I were you, I would contact Sony, could be a common problem.

Better yet why dont u try the reset button on the back of the controller

the battery was fine when i installed the update but it could be that, dont know how i feel about puting it in the fridge though

on topic, hold the PS button for 20 seconds so it shuts off.

holding the PS button for 20 seconds hasnt helped, it wouldnt even go off. only goes off when i press reset

I had the same problem.Just turn off the ps3 and leave the controler for a few minutes and and it should turn itself off.

tried leaving the console for a few minutes, it turned off the controller but still no connection once i turn it back on

Same thing happened to me:( After the updte my DS3 doesn work.. LEDs 1 and 2 glows red... Bt my other controller orks fine (which is not a DS3).. PLs help :(

no it does not work in the XMB

4 me its my white controller which i normaky use has both 1 and 2 lights on and my black controller(ds3) works

i have the same problem, i bought my controller from an ebay seller based in hong kong, my other 3 european controllers work fine, where did you guys buy yours and what is your modeltype?

mine is CECHZC2U

hold the PS button from 20 seconds, it'll shutoff the controller .... the same thing happened to me but a few weeks ago. Nonstop-Madness

If ports 1 and 2 are solid red, it means that the controller is assigned to slot 5. But if you can't change the slots.. then I don't know. On a sidenote, I updated to firmware 3.0 this morning and my Dual Shock 3 is working fine with my PS3. Its the 80GB with 2 USB ports (if that has something to do with it).

My model number is CECHZC2U as well and is not working after the 3.0 upgrade :( I see that all the DS3 with this model nuber has stopped working after the upgrade.. :(

Yep, it even breaks your controller free of charge :P

Since update 3.0 many report that uncharted is freezing...that's true because it always freeze at the same time for me too
