I don't think I will....I really only use PSN to play online.

As long as I can play my games online for free I'm good. It is the whole reason I got the ps3 in the first place anyways.
But I don't see myself paying so I can use netflix or whatever their plan is.
There should've been a "Depends on what kind of services will be offered" choice, or something similar
If what is being offered for a fee is something I think will be worth spending money on, then yes I will pay for PSN premium, if not, then I won't pay. Simple as that.
I don't get the "no I hope they fail" post. The system has struggled. It's finally gaining momentum and they want to try something new so you say "i hope they fail". Well that sounds like a good way to get companies to take risks and offer new services.
If it's similar in price to xlb then ya i'll pay.
It really depends on the additional features offered, all of the current functions will remain free which is awesome. If they went for a full pay for play thing I would throw my PS3 out the window right now, because that is the main reason I will never own an X-Box. I already paid for the game why make us pay to play it. but back to my point, I would be willing to pay for additional features on the PSN if they seem worth it. Things like Facebook, twitter and Netflix would not be worth paying any money for but if they added some kind of TV streaming (similar to the iPlayer in the UK) I may pay as long as it has some good networks (FX, Spike, G4, ect)

Same here. I'm pretty sure alot of other people will be paying for premium service also. I think it's about time. Would love to see what Sony would do with the revenue. All the revenue from Live and still the majority of games are P2P which is a joke if you ask me.

Why do you care if Sony makes it or not? If Sony goes under (somehow) and stop making playstations, somebody will pick up the slack. That's the way it works. You're just willing to let companies rip you off under the guise of "trying something new"? I hope this does fail. And I hope the PSN reverts back to being free, just as I've been utilizing it for years now. If they want to try something new, then truly try something new. Don't just put a price tag on stuff that is old and free.
I was very disappointed when I heard this news. It will make the PS3 even harder to defend in the coming months.
not if they are goin to not release redeemable card like xblive ,

Honestly everything they offer now on the PSN is all I really care about. I don't watch movies on my PS3. For me as long as I can download demos, themes, and games as well as still play online all for free, then I'm fine with it and don't think I would have a reason to upgrade to a higher membership. More customization to my profile (probably like a rip off of XBL's avatars...) and what not would be cool, but to me wouldn't justify paying for it because I don't really even do much with my profile other than compare trophies and change my avatar (though the talkman duck is too perfect to change).
I can't really think of any ways they COULD expand the PSN with a subscription without ripping off XBL (even with XBL I don't use half the features, I just get demos, indie game demos and play online because all the others I can do on a PC.) which is kind of why I'm afraid they might make somethings that are already free to us part of being a premium member. But honestly, I don't think Sony is silly enough to do that...
