Buy a PSP or wait for PSP 2

After having a ds i am starting to crave some graphic power but the question is should I buy the psp or wait knowing the redesigned psp is supposedly around the corner.

I feel you, I'm in the same situation. I really miss the PSP I use to own (sold it for money) and I'm thinking of purchasing one again. I like my DS but there are a few games that interest me more than the ones on the DS. Though I don't want to purchase one cause a new one is supposdely on its way. I'd recommend you wait incase there are new features that you feel are worth the upgrade. You wouldn't want to regret anything. Though if months pass and nothing comes out, I think I'll be getting the one thats out.

Not unless you know the date for sure when the "redesigned" PSP is coming
out,it might be a long wait.With Sony just dropping the price of the PSP to $169.99
because of lackluster sales,I'd probably get the PSP now.But if you can wait,I'm
pretty sure by Christmas the PSP will probably have another price drop.............

• miniature hard disk drives are out
• will be streamlined and thinner and lighter
• Sony is still expected to include astill/video camera of undertermined resolution as a buit-in feature of the new PSP

did Sony redesign the PSP too early or was this just what might be needed to help the PSP move forward.

PSP has the potential to do well, but Sony hasn't managed it very well.

Just because the psp isn't doing as good as the DS is doesn't mean that the psp isn't doing good at all. It just means that the DS is doing that much better.

If only I gave a crap about any of this.

All I care about is playing PSP games on my PSP.

I have everything else taken care of with my other devices.

I'm not about to pay 200 bucks for a PSP that just plays the same games but just looks different. It'll be just about as useless as a DS Lite (Which I had both an Original DS and a DS Lite, which is no different than the original DS other than it is smaller, less durable and gets hinge cracks for no goddamn reason).

If there redesigning it and adding a camera and a internal 8gb storage..than its obviously gonna cost more than it did when it first came out.DeathMob

The PSP may not be doing well but thats because everyone already has one.No ,offense to nintendo or D.S owners the psp is for serious gamers, the D.S is mainly for little kids. I only like one of the D.S games anyways.

nah, there is no "evidence".. there is speculation however. As well as rumors caused by the recent price drop. There may, in no doubt, be a new handheld in the distant furture. But there is no evidence until sony confirms it.

The only confirmation from Sony is claiming the company is trying a new marketing strategy for it's current handheld (ie PSP). The recent price drop is part of that strategy. They also are going to be releasing new games for a different range of demographics, rather than just Sport and racing titles.

Its not going to be a psp2 but a redesigned psp. like ds to ds lite.  so it should not be more expensivecyprusxx

PSP is kicking into high speed this year and next. So the games are coming great. I am playing it now. As for PSP2, even if it gets announced, you still have to wait another 6mos to 18 months before they release it.. That is a long wait. In the meantime, I will enjoy my psp and am looking to buy a 2nd psp.

I own PSP. It's very good console. I got it from November. Games are good. I rather PSP than NDS. (Coz graphics are better and I like most of games for this console than on NDS)

And in my opinion PSP2 will not be aviable to purchase in this year coz dont know what will be said on future E3.
IF somth will be said about it i think it will appear at least on 2008. Not in 2007. And second thing....They need good titles for games on their "new" console. maybe new Tekken ? lol...  humm... what more... for first console will appear only in japan I think.... so its more 4-6 months to appear in US and Europe....

So... if they would say that the PSP2 will come it will be in some months about half a year or even more... then u need to wait more for it to appear in Europ and US.
And Third thing... it will cost a lot if they want to get 8gb in it with camera etc. :O it would cost even 350$ :o (think that psp at first costed 299$) so it is kinda a lot of money....
