Talk about best RPG on PSP, there are not much titles come to my mind. FFVII CC is a good choice, but it's quite away from 'original 'RPG. Why don't u try some ported games from PS or remake games from even far platform like SNES? I play STAR OCEAN recently, the story is good. Also you should try Volkyrie profile remake from PSP. These two are fabulous~!
Some of my favorite RPGs: (I don't own all of them) -Crisis Core FF7 -Wild Arms XF (Strategy; it's better than Final Fantasy Tactics in some ways) -Star Ocean: First Departure -The Phantasy Star games (they only come on Sega Genesis Collection) -Final Fantasy Tactics (War of the Lions) ...That's my RPG recommendation. Sorry, but I'm not a huge fan of western RPGs (Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3, etc.)
I'm going to have to follow the crowd and say FF7: Crisis Core, but if you're looking for something a little more expansive you can't go wrong with Breath Of Fire 3. Assuming you're in Europe or you're willing to import.
Puzzle Quest is a pretty good and addictive Puzzle RPG game.. Disgiae and Final Fantasy Tactics are quite good.. Though you don't play them for the story so much as for the gameplay thats all turn based strategy. Crisis Core is pretty good if you were into FF7, it can be quite repetitive though, with a extremely simplistic combat system.. Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a pretty good game thats a beat-em-up with RPG elements in both character choice, as well as a rpg leveling system.. Though for this one I find it to be way much more fun to play it on a console with 1 to 3 other people.
