For something short, entertaining, and to the point (based on the fact that you'll be playing until you arrive at your destination), i'd bring along something like Hot Pixel to hold your attention. Nothing in depth, nothing that requires you to find a save point to stop playing...
Always keep a sex minigame ready to load from a GoW game when you sit down on a bus or something, and start that puppy up and watch everyones' faces. ;) Kidding. Don't do that.
PSP minis are designed for this sort of thing, but keep in mind that all PSP games allow you to put it in "sleep mode" whenever, effectively making the longest slog of an RPG playable in 5-minute sessions.
I guess how much time you generally travel a day I suppose. I usually play whatever RPG I am playing at the time but just put it onto 'sleep' mode so I can start it again later on.
Have a Go? Play anything and just pause it :) Just wish for the batt to stay long enough though. Not really sure how it works :P

NVM the every other PSP can pause LOL. My bad. Yea but with the PSP Go you can actually do something else on your PSP while it's paused. Totally true, but by then the OP probably has to get off the vehicle xD I find that feature useful though if I wanna game for a while :)
