Which do you guys prefer and why. Personally I like Tekken the most. However, the only reason I do like Street fighter is because they have the whole Marvel thing going. MK vs. DC was horrible and i never want to see that game again in my life.
I've always loved Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. But my vote went to SF... by a slight margin. Tekken is also very good... it's a close third on my list. I never really got into VF... probably because I never was into sega's systems until the Dreamcast.
I would usually say MK but they have went "down hill" after Deadly Alliance (I was able to deal with no Liu Kang but after that the games got worse in my opinion.) So I chose Tekken because it's gives more of a realistic feel other than the demon part, and it never disappoints.
It's really too bad there is no online component for VF5 for PS3. I still think its the best fighter this gen. Just my opinion and I know few will agree.
really hard to decide knowing that SFIV just came out and it's looking fresh, but looking at new Tekken 6 trailers it looks like we're going to have Tekken 5 but with better graphics and some new modes. right now I'm for Street Fighter but it's better to make the same poll after Tekken 6 :)
I'm not into fighting games like I used to be. I'm perfectly happy with my last purchase of Street Fighter HD off of PSN and probably won't be picking up the new Street Fighter. I really liked Virtual Fighter though, but if I had to choose I guess I would go Mortal Kombat.
OOOOhhhh....thats a tough one. Its not a good idea comparing 2D gameplay with 3D gameplay. I will say that my fave is TEKKEN without a doubt, but add some streetfighter for a well balanced meal.:D

Of the "traditional fighters" I like the Street Fighter series, but I also really like the Fight Night series. For nostalgia I have to include Mike Tyson's Punch Out.
Tekken by far. Street Fighter was my first, Tekken was my favorite.
Not that I'm complaining, as Tekken would have still gotten my vote, but Soul Caliber should have made the list over VF. I remember playing Soul Edge at the arcade back in the day. It's a close second to Tekken though.
I've been playing Tekken since the first one and it's definitely my favourite fighting game series, I just love theflexibility of it and the interesting characters.

What little I've played of Virtua Fighter 5, I loved it. Probably because I was a natural at it. I've never picked up a fighting game and was just so naturally good until VF5. I voted for SF series though. SF2 gave me and my cousin endless nights of playing SEGA Genesis. The good old days :)
Street Fighter for me. I usually consider buying fighting games a waste of money, but SFIV was a first day buy with absolutely no regrets.:)
I used to love fighting games back in the day, but seems almost everything turned into dial a combo.

One post....interesting???? I smell Capcom fraud here lol. I was going to buy it, but realized that ALL fighting games are cheaper given the right amount of time.
I really don't care for fighting games overall. Just never interested me. However, I did have some fun back in the days of Tekken 2. So, my vote goes to the Tekken series.

Shaolin monks was the last fun mk thing I think. But that wasn't a fighting game though. Have I added you yet denji? We need to get some sf matches in this weekend.
I like street fighter but its pretty sweet to pick lee chaolon and side step someone in a 3d ring and either knee em into the air or uper cut them then juggle their ass into the wall and splat them. Though I'll likely pick up sf4 at some point for sure.
wow it's a tough one tekken and street fighter are really one of the best games ever but i'm gonna go with tekken cause i enjoy it more and i love the characters in the game more
For me its a double winner between street fighter and tekken. The way I see it these two are the only 2 fighting games done right, everything else are done wrong.
While Street Fighter is a very deep fighter I must admit, the Virtue Fighter series is by far the deepest in terms of moves, strategy, side steps and combos.

Tekken wins this one for me. To me, Tekken has always been a very competitive fighter. It has evolved so much since the first installation and never ceases to best itself. However... If the poll would've been more specific as to which Street Fighter game (Third Strike), hands down victory. Third Strike is one of the most serious fighting games ever. No scrubs, no BS.
I haven't played many Beat Um Ups in quite some time. My favourite of all time was Street Fighter 2 Tubro on my old Mega Drive (so many wasted hours!) but always enjoyed Killer Instinct in our local arcade. Will be getting SF4 on pay day though :D
