Hi just wondering if they are going to release PSN cards in Australia so I can buy stuff from the Playstation store.
If so when?

Well, you're in the same boat as Europe. Sony just doesn't care.

I've heard rumours that they'll be released in June for us, but then again, no confirmation at all.

Japan has had it for a year or so, I believe. But that doesn't mean that Sony cares more about Japan than Europe/Australia. Japan is very cash oriented and very pre-paid oriented. Credit cards are rarely used domestically. So, I'm sure Sony realized it was a higher priority in Japan to get it working; also the infrastructure is already there. To get a PSN card, you can go to any convenience store (i.e., 7-11) to an electronic kiosk (like an ATM) and then you pay for it at the cashier.

So, to ask when will Sony get PSN cards out is like asking how much your country (Australia, Europe, etc.) prefers credit cards over cash...
