June gloom is gone, and now its a 100+ inside the house, its only so long we can use the AC without the street losing power and electric bills through the roof. I play at midnight lol, when its a little cooler. the thought of a 100+ degrees and insdie the system who knows how hot it is.

Wow. that's terrible (re: op's situation). We've got a similar situation, where the power for the town goes out when it gets overloaded, which happens at least once a year around this time. Can't worry about playing then because the power is out! We're part of a program with our energy company that uses a flat rate year-round so we don't ever get hit with huge bills. We also have certain days (once a month at most during the summer) called Smart Days, where for a few hours we don't use anything that draws a lot of power, like washers/dryers, a/c, etc. Helps reduce rolling blackouts and most people are at work during that time period, anyway.

I still play, but you can tell the PS3 is working harder to keep itself cool (and failing). It's easier to tell on my PC, as I keep a temperature monitoring program open. Where it would normally idle at 40C and peak at 51C or so, in the summer heat it goes to 45C to 56C or hotter, depending on how much air circulation I get going in my apartment. It's still not near failure temperature, but it's certainly harder on the hardware.

But you do get the odd day or 2 where it's really hot, luckily it has been raining a few times so it's cooled down where I live :D

It's over 100 in your house? Hmm, well fortunately I have a window unit + central air throughout the house so it stays quite cool :D

no haven't had that problem. where i'm from we've been getting so much rain, usually 4 days out of the week. but we have had a few scorchers of 34c for a couple days. But I usually have my AC on all the time anyways, so it's not much of an issue for me. I just tend to BBQ more to keep the heat outside and my apartment cool.

Nope. I got a portable a/c unit that keeps the room cool at a crisp 75 degrees.

All you people with A/C you're lucky:(. I gotta use a fan to keep me cool. Parents think A/C is too expensive.

I really don't worry about it, is that bad? We don't have AC, but we open all the windows and doors, and run the Attic fan and ceiling fans; it gets a really good breeze :). I never really worried about that though.

Nah, ours too. [unless we both live in the same place :p] Temperatures always go past 30 degrees in the summer here, opening windows is useless, and the PS3 still seems fine. I don't tend to play too much PS3 in summer, but it still seems fine. Mind you, the room because close to unbareable due to the heat LOL!

Why would I? The PS3 only does everything, including working proberly in a sauna:

In the sauna test, the temperature was started at 100 degrees and moved up to 120 during the last 24 hours of the test. Amazingly, the only reported incidents during the sauna test was a burning smell at hour 64 and a very hot console at the the end of the test. Otherwise, the PS3 console operated normally.
