Am I able to use my new Mass Effect save on Mass Effect 2 ?

Since the original has been released on PSN, is it possible for me (a guy who has never played ME2 or ME3) to use the original character on ME2 and eventually the 3rd? I ask this because I know that the 2nd was released before the 1st, and so it wasn't designed with this feature in mind

honestly it is nothing you will miss. part 2 on ps3 lets you make all the choice picks from ME1.
