80gb PS3s officially dead in Gamestop / EbGames.

Well first was Best Buy , now Gamestop/Ebgames ... goodbye 80gb :(

There is no listing of a new SKU or price drop yet. these pics are from today (Sun 1/27) with a cell phone. The A is the 'Stat' column means Active , the D means Deactivated.

Am so glad i got my 80GB Ps3 yesterday AT Gamestop that was pro there last shipments in the store psp41

I still have to pick up my 80gb!! I hope its not too late :(

The 80 GB model really is fantastic though.

so what happens if someones 80 or 60gb ps3 breaks in the future? do they get screwed with a 40gb? if my 60 broek adn they tried to give me a 40gb i woudl refuse to get it replaced and ask to get it fixed or my money back to upgrade my pc and never turn to console gaming again.BTBAM127

I think your prediciton is correct. Remember the 80 GB with MotorStorm was for only a limited time, so it looks like there just getting rid of MotorStorm which makes sense.

Sony is just doing anything possible to lowering its price. I think they realize that's why they got out of the gate so slow.

I really doubt that ps3 can afford anymore price cuts...

If sony comes out with a new ps3 Sku, then they will have to consider price dropping the 40GB model as well....

Maybe sony might release a white ps3.

I think if they do a non limited edition one it'll include the dualshock 3 too. Hence their need to discontinue the old 80 gig. pure speculation on my part though

Kinda what he said. They did say, it was a limited edition system with the game. They will just bring out the 80g with out a game.

oh really? thats good then. did they mean fix it? or actually igve you a new 60gb ps3? if so thats pretty cool. i remeber reading here that someones 20gb ps3 broke and they wanted to give him a 40gb ( which lacks ps2 compatibility and the 20gb can play ps2 games) and he also paid more for the 20gb.

On the front of the Playstation store in San Francisco there's two signs that say "LIMITED EDITION" PS3's. 40GB with Spiderman 3 in Blu-Ray and the 80GB with Motostorm. They're going to come out with something different.

yeah i picked mine up at gamestop a week ago so glad i did, but im sure they are gonna release a new sku with rumbnle or metal gearloc211

I have heard rumors of them releasing a new model with a 120gb hdd with uncharted, the new DS3, along with a big firmware update that will include Home on it. It will most likely be released sometime in early spring, and if they are just stopping to manufacture the 80gb models then it's seems quite likely.

i got a 40gb i don't care. lol
