Looking for this specific game name

I'm looking for this game I played years back but forgot the title

It's about a man trying to solve the mystery of his murders and trying to reveal the identity of his murderer. In the begining he gets stabbed in the back walking down the street and somehow gets a second chance at life by talking to an Omnipotent being which also gives his a small compass like device that can make him travel into the past and try to avoid his death
