I recently had surgery to repair a ligament in my right thumb. I'm just now staring to be able to use it for short periods of time. What are some good games for the PS2 that don't require a lot of button-mashing? I would appreciate any suggestions.

Katamari Damacy, it only uses the two analog sticks. I don't know if it will bother your thumb to use the analog stick so much though. By the way Katamari looks completely silly, and it is, but it's a blast.

I've tried Kingdom Hearts, but my thumb won't hold up long enough to finish the boss battles. Any RPG's that rely more on strategy?

A RPG (not action-RPG afcours) or a arcaderacer like burnout

Racing games in particular since you can just map the gas and brakes to the shoulderbuttons and play through it singlehandedly without dificulty.

How about racing games, I believe you can set up the controller so you can use R and L buttons or maybe a driving wheel. I wish you health, thumb is an important part of your body for gaming :D

Is it actually safe for you to start gaming so soon after surgery? Any slow paced game will do nicely, SRPG fits the bill well.

Any of the shin megami tensi games (nocturne and digital devil saga are good, dont know the rest). All turn based, no twitch gaming.

I'd say u'r best go with RPG that does not involve button mashing.. games like Final Fantasies, any shin megami series..

If u really wanted some action, i'd say u can try Metal Gear Solid, if u play it right, (which is damn hard :P), u won't be notice hence there is no need to stress u'r right thumb..

but the best way is to give it a rest. U'r health is more important dude. I hope u'll get well soon.

I know this is a PS2 forum, but if you really want NO pressure on your thumb, then u can buy a few PC games like

Warcraft 3

Starcraft

Diablo etc.

Even if you don't have a high ended PC, these games will work fine.

On the PS2, I would suggest Grand Turismo 4, Burnout or any other racer

BTW, Get well soon.:)
