im 16, but i dont think age is an issue. you have people in their 50s acting like 10year olds. ive played some 12 year old kids who had more sportsmanship than alot of adult gamers. but sometimes, screw all sportsmanship and just be a cocky dante like in devil may cry.

Nope, I'm well past 13, but I think it's awesome that you are a PC gamer.
You haven't taken the easiest, or cheapest route in general, but it's by FAR the most rewarding and satisfying! IMO
To see you listing your PC specs in your sig it at least appears you have some semblance of understanding (and interest!) about the hardware, hardcore gamer in the making :)
this thread scares me, i generally prefer pc gaming because i find online you are usually playing with more mature players as opposed to my old xbox 360 where you had 5 year olds screaming at you over xbox live

The only young pc gamers I hate are the ones who use mics in CS S and keep telling everyone on the server that I'm using hacks everytime I kill them then try to get me banned from the server.

I'm 25. I started playing PC games around 1992 or 93 on a 386, with classics such as Tie Fighter and Doom. One of the reasons I prefer PC gaming is that it has an older, more mature following. I can't stand playing on Xbox Live due to all the screaming, obnoxious little kids. Why does PC gaming have an older following? PC gaming was at its apex of popularity and greatness in the mid to late 90s, and so obviously the people who got involved in it at that point are much older now and many are still gaming. Gaming PCs are also significantly more expensive and complex than game consoles, practically requiring that you have a job and some basic knowledge of computers to support your hobby.
I dont really understand people bashing console gaming services like Xbox Live noting that kids talk on the mic, because I played TF2 all day today and there were kids on there doing things like singing, talking WAY too much, and just being generally annoying.

Lucky I never came across those servers on TF2 then. I always seem to either find a server where the teams who use the voice chat to organize assualts/defense or if we are in a stalemate, people start to fool around/tell jokes.
I don't see a problem with teens such as myself playing video games, I think it is the other way around. I don't think you should be playing video games as much when you are older. I really can't see myself playing video games as an adult.

Young gamers aren' the problem. It's just general America that is allowed into the gaming culture. The general populace of America is negative, unintelligent and ignorant. It's not young people, it's just America.

You know if people would stop trying to violate the ESRB ratings of games as teenagers instead of going out and getting drunk and causing havoc like teenagers are supposed to do, us older gamers would stop having to justify our habits to politicians.
