Yes they upscaled the graphics but they still look extremely old and dated. My Starcraft II Game is way older and looks way better. I can't imagine paying $30 for upscaled graphics.
Most of the textures were redone. The character models were completely remade.
Not trying to defend it or anything, I was in the same position as you: could barely see any difference. But if you see W3: Reforged in motion it looks really nice, actually.
Yeah, it's definitely not just "upscaled". They remade the whole game from the ground up. It's not gonna look like some modern, super detailed, photorealistic graphics kind of game because Blizzard doesn't do that.
By similar logic I could say who would buy an RTS that's not Supreme Commander ;)
In my awesome opinion Blizzard RTS games suck. Starcraft and Warcraft.
All joking and non-joking aside.... The Warcraft 3 remake looks like a pretty big effort on Blizzard's part. Probably worth $30 if you're into those hero RTS games.

Agreed. They tried to modernize it without completely taking away from the original (that's not really something to complain about).

What else is it then? There are bugs, a decade old, that are still there. Seems like upscaled graphics is all that it is. A poorly rushed re-master. Sometimes the campaign doesn't even work, let alone multiplayer. So I guess it has that.
