Why are my textures doing this?

This texture problem keeps happening in Unreal Tournament 3, Oblivion, and Fallout 3 so far, but it's extremely annoying. The games will briefly freeze and then when the game unfreezes these texture issues will occur. Anybody know why this might be happening? I've already updated both my audio and video drivers to the latest ones. I've also checked both my gpu temperatures and my cpu temperatures and they are fine. Finally I tried changing the games to run on only a single processor, and that did nothing either. I post this basically out of desperation for an answer to this problem. Anyone had this issue before? The thing is, it's not happening with any of my other games including Dragon Age, Dirt, and Crysis (which were all on max). Here's my dxdiag info:

It's a 500 Watt power supply

My graphics card is a Geforce GTX 275 (drivers fully updated)

Like i said, what's really odd is it's not doing it with Crysis, Pure, Dragon Age, Dirt, or WoW.

check what the voltage is in the 12v rails while in load, and also tell us how many amps does your psu have on the 12v rails.if its a no brand 500 watt, the 12v rails may have degraded to a point in which it does not provide enough voltage(which leads to not delivering enough power)..on a side note, once i had some horrible texture problems with grid(textures looked really poor..was solved reinstalling).also,a user had my same problem a while ago,and was fixed by adjusting the AA settings.hope this helps.

Aside from potential overheating and power problems, the final possibility is that your card is permanently damaged, specifically the VRAM. In fact, it's very likely that your problem is not caused by heat or power, since you were able to play fine in Crysis.

Try to use your GPU in another computer if possible, or put another GPU into your current computer. If the problem disappears then you may at least isolate the problem to your GPU, and if the other solutions suggested do not work out, RAM your card. Bad VRAM tends to affect the textures in only in some games at first(in my personal experience, Mass Effect at first), then as the problem advances it starts to affect more games(e.g. Dirt 2), while all the time Crysis remained interestingly unaffected.

I've seen all too many people with similar problems who ended up having to RMA their GPU after upgrading the PSU in vain these past few months on this forum.

ADD: For reference, I solved my problem(with a HD5870) by RMAing it, then adding a second HD5870 without upgrading the power supply. My setup has been working fine since then, and I'm staying much more cautious with the cards' memory clock.

Thanks, I'll try that. I actually just got an error saying Nv4_disp display driver has stopped working normally after crashing from UT3. Which doesn't make sense to me since everything's updated.

Hmph, now that's something which can be caused by insufficient power or bad driver. You should definitely explore all possibilities to locate the problem first.

Just got finished sending out an RMA for my graphics card. After I tested the VRAM it was discovered that there were many consistency errors that existed on the card (permanent damage). My card is under a three year warranty so hopefully when I get it back my system will be fine again.

No it was a Sparkle Computer graphics card. They said they will send me a graphics card of equal or better performance based on availability of an exact replacement.
