Even games that got 10s on other platforms fail to get a 10 on PC (GTA4).

Have no PC games been worthy of a 10/10? Surely some have. Why not StarCraft II or Half Life 2? Two extremely well optimized games with excellent graphics and incredibly fun campaigns... PC games have been reviewed on GameSpot since the mid 90s... while Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360, which are all only around 5 years old, have already received at least one 10/10 game.

Maybe Skyrim or Diablo 3. Old Republic as well if it lived up to all expectations, but I don't think that will happen.

Darkhell153
10/10 doesn't necessarily mean it a PERFECT game. Just means that it does 99.99% of things right and the little bad things that it may have don't spoil the overall experience....

A 10 doesn't mean it's perfect. It just means that the game is at the top of it's class and does everything it does the way it should be done.

It can either mean 10/10 perfect, or 10/10 the idol for the same genre. Since perfection is impossible, its the latter.

Also GS will finally give PC a 10 when this game comes out

I'm kinda curious to see when any game gets a 10/10 again on gamespot. So far we have mentioned the following as contenders for a perfect score: Battlefield 3: I'm guessing Gamespot will give it a 9.5 Mass Effect 3: I'm not sure what will stop this game from getting a 10, but I am sure Gamespot will find something ~9.5 Diablo 3: I'm sure Gamespot will say it didn't innovate enough ~9.0-9.5 Halflife 3/episode 3: I am more curious as when this game will even be announced, but I have the most faith in this one Skyrim: This game is going to have bugs and get a 9.0 Deus Ex: I am really interested in this but I don't think it has a chance at all ~8.5-9.0 Old Republic: I don't know the first thing about MMO's ~9.0 And that wraps up my crappy predictions

PC games are graded by different standards. You might even be able to say that a 9.5 PC game is the equivalent to a 10/10. Sure, it might not look as neat, but we all know that the games that have been awarded tens aren't necessarily better than lower scoring games that have come out around the same time. I'd take Crysis over that convoluted MGS4 crap any day.

Battlefield 3: I'm guessing Gamespot will give it a 9.5 Isn't enough like CoD, it lags (Because it'll be reviewed on consoles  ) campaign is a bore, too high system requirements even though it runs fine on older hardware.

Mass Effect 3: I'm not sure what will stop this game from getting a 10, but I am sure Gamespot will find something ~9.5 I'm not a fan of ME but I hear its being even more dumbed down/developed as a TPS. Never understood the praise

Diablo 3: I'm sure Gamespot will say it didn't innovate enough ~9.0-9.5 They'll complain its not on consoles, some "Battle.net" problems when there really aren't any, and theres only one campaign :P

Halflife 3/episode 3: I am more curious as when this game will even be announced, but I have the most faith in this one Valve will push it out when they find the next big innovation for FPSes. Thats my guess. They're developing some really sweet gameplay mechanics so its once again the king of SP FPSes. I bet they're even developing a new engine for it or vastly overhauling Source for it too.

Skyrim: This game is going to have bugs and get a 9.0 Repeat of New Vegas where consoles get 7.5 and PC gets 8.5, or consoles are going to score higher because of lower standards.

Deus Ex: I am really interested in this but I don't think it has a chance at all ~8.5-9.0 Played the demo and I'm really pleased. Gonna try and get the CE for this game because it was that awesome

Old Republic: I don't know the first thing about MMO's ~9.0 Its gonna be good but its not gonna be able to steal WoW's playerbase.

Not even a single game deserve to be 10/10 and no doubt that all previous console 10/10 games been influenced by some other reasons. financial, political or anything else. A game has been made by different parts, sound, graphics, storyline and storytelling, gameplay and other elements. I don't believe a game can e perfect in all these aspects.

This guy is either crazy or never even played the game. MGS4 was WELL deserving of a perfect 10. Honestly can't remember a game that was this good in a LONG time. But hey, it's just an opinion!

Never. Some upcoming games got some chance, but I don't really see it happening since PC has higher standards.

Out of the games that are coming out in the near future, I only see BF 3 getting a perfect score since it's developed for the PC and ported to console.

Skyrim and ME 3? Don't know what to think about these two.

I believe the highest-rated PC game is Diablo, with a 9.6 under the old system.

There is no game in the world who deserve 10/10 or even G4tv´s 5 out of 5 since no game is perfect and there is always room for improvment. Portal 2 was a great game but way to short and way to easy. GTA III-IV-Vice City- San Andreas - is a great game but it still lacks some things that could be made better. And every game down the road has the same issue.

Yeah I would have to agree!... MGS (all of them, hell even the older MEtal Gear series) All rocked hard! They were all very awesome including MGS4... crap no sir! MGS 1,2,3,4 were all Fantastic!

Crysis is good and all, but I honestly found myself enjoying MGS considerably more.. And I love FPS games, I love my gaming pc too... But MGS that is a wonderful well done franchise!

I personally think that there's no difference between an 8.5 - 10 when it comes to games. I enjoyed New Vegas a hell of a lot more than GTAIV - a supposedly 10/10 game that escaped the 'been done before' and 'stripped' mark. I do think reviewers get tipped off in some ways when reviewing games created by the industry's biggest companies.

Either that or it could be because the mark system changed just as or slightly after PC games started to become a rarity - from the 0.1 system to the 0.5 system, I think GS reviewers became more lenient with their scores after that.

Yea, im pretty sure Diablo III will get that score, maybe even Starwars version 1.592.

But that's probably just what im hoping for, since a10/10 score should be for a game as epic as Baldurs gate, developed in our time..

I think if SC2 and Crysis were scored by the old system, they would've been near perfect and higher than 9.6.

Batman AA is not a 10 game. There is plenty of things you could change in that game, more gadgets, better story and more clear, avoid spending tons of time walking from one area to another area and back again because you forgot something, boss battles could be harder, more croc battles and so on and on. But still Batman AA is a great game and worth every 9/10 it gets.

Batman is a 9.0 game, no more than that. Too much time was spent using detective mode.

True that. No matter how good a game is it should never get a perfect 10. Because no such thing exists. Something can always be improved and thats a great thing because it means the medium stays fresh and varied

I agree MGS4 is good but its not the best in the series for me. No.3 was the game that shouls have gotten a perfect score. Kojima NAILED the characters in that game. No sobbing otacon over his lost love. It had fantastic enviroments, excellent dialogue, cutscenes that you didn't actually mind watching. and the gameplay is just as good today as it was back then. I can't wait to see the HD remake

GUYS, 10/10 doesn't mean PERFECT GAME ok ?? FelipeInside

Depends on the review site though. In the likes of gametrailers they give out 0.1 marks so something that is 10.0 from them is a perfect game

I personally never played a game that was deemed a 10/10. So I guess GameSpot PC shares my view. =)

Metal Gear Solid 4 with its few bad problems on Metal Gear Online were annoying. Didn't deserve a 10/10....

GTA 4 surely didn't deserve a 10/10, it had its fair share of problems and the story was dull IMO....

Super Mario Galaxy 2 however, I haven't played. Gah I'm committing a crime, I'm going to go play it now. =D

I know a 10/10 doesn't mean perfect and I'm not judging by perfection. The problems in those games were annoying enough to knock off some points.

Battlefield 3

lol. 9.5 definitely, they'll never give a 10/10 to a game in which everything has been done before. Battlefield 3 is going to be fantastic but it isn't innovating much from what I've seen. Only innovators and redefiners get 10/10

I hope Skyrim gets a 10 on PC, and 8.5 on Consoles...............*sigh* the rage would be oh so sweet.
