I got the sennheiser hd 280professional ones for my new computer. I haven't had a chance to test them, but the thing that had drawn them to me was how it will go all the way over your ears, and you can change the cord incase something happens to it, instead of buying new headphones. (no mic on it though since it's just headphones)

If you want headphones that are almost the best on the market especially for under 500 bux, Senheisser hd555's. they're used at gaming tournaments, lans, etc. 100 bux can pick them up nowdays. maybe 120

Another vote here for Sennheiser. I picked up some cheap HD202s for under $30 on newegg and they are incomparably better than my old Logitechs.

Sennheiser headphones are the best, especially those with open ears at the back for air. It makes the sound even better, but these models come at a hefty price.
