I was going to be smart and say I use a mousepad for a mousepad.....
I bought this cool one from ALDI supermarket. $14 It is rigid black with a nice surface, clear plastic edge that glows blue and a built in 4 port USB hub!!!!
Why spend $50-$70 on a gaming mouse and use it on a desk where it tracks like crap?artiedeadat40I agree, so many people that think their desk is a good idea??, or even think mousepads are for ball type mice only?? even an old school foam/rubber one is better than none. I'm going to go one further an say a cheap mouse with a cheap mousepad is better than an expensive mouse on no mousepad!!!!

I agree. I could only imaging trying to play CS:S with a mouse straight on my desk.

Yeah.. I had a problem with my mouse where the cursor would jump erratically around the screen on occasion.
I bought a mousepad from the dollar store and have not had any issues since.

hm thats pretty intresting actually i havent been using a mouse pad cause i cant find it lol but it seems like it could make a s pretty significant diffrence ill be sure to find that mouse pad
I use the pad that came with my last PC, "plays best on Alienware"
I now have a custom build PC that is way better for the same price, that is when I was uninformed about building a PC, so I got the bottom of the line alienware, the mousepad is quite good though.

I'm fairly certain a mousepad gives no boost in performance for laser mice with a typical desk surface. I have had no problems with my gaming without a pad ever since my first laser, which was many years ago. If you say otherwise, I wan't to see something substantial that backs up your claim. A laser is not designed to perform better on mousepad surfaces.
Razer Mantis Speed, the biggest version :( I really wanted an eXactMat, but I couldn't find one anywhere at that time :(.DanielDust
How is that?

Do you have any proof of your claim?

It's excellent, no complaints there, but it gets dirty in time, that's why I wanted an eXactMat because it's made of aluminium and it's easier to clean.Nice big QCK+ heavy pad. Its an alright pad for 20bucks. But to be honest i liked a simple 7dollar huge pad with hyperglides better. But thats just my opinion.
Im using a IME 1.1a. Very comfy mouse, and when on low res, really dont need more than 400dpi anywho.

It's fairly easy to prove. I have a laser mouse. I have a mousepad and a desk. I put mouse on pad - tracks perfectly. I put mouse on desk - tracks attrociously. obviously my desk is different to your desk. Why don't you try mouse on a mousepad - then you would be able to make your claim of "FAIRLY certain"

Alienware mouse pads are from FUnc industries. they are the best known for making premium mouse pads. they come with a smooth and rough side.
