I'm hoping that the 360 crowd will vote for freeman in the finals (i'm optamistic about freeman making it that far), although i doubt Freeman will beat out Mario.

what about the WOW crowd? PC gamers have huge untapped ranks when it comes to sheer numbers. I'm guessing that most of them simply don't give a **** about this competition, and its no secret that gamespot has more of a console fanbase than a PC fanbase. But we can't forget that those who own 360's have had the chance to play the Half-Life 2 games; i know lots of 360 gamers who would choose Freeman over Mario/Link any day.

In relate to the topic, Freeman will be easily diminished in votes in comparison to Link if the actual Nintendo fanbase voted. Though I really admire HL2 as a marvelous game, just my honest opinion, really.

With all respect for freeman, mario has been there way longer and has a mutch greater story. Mario has/had it's own television show, and the games still sell a lot becaus of it's Mario. Unlike Freeman, his game sells becaus of all the mods that are out for him. I bet most people bought his game mainly because of teamfortress or counterstrike. I bought it becaus of the hammer editor. If i show a picture to anyone of mario they recognice it, wheater it's my grandma or a little girl. If i show a picture of Mr. Freeman, just people that played his game "MAY" recognice him. Mario stands for Nintendo, and nintendo has been the most revolutionary and innovative entertainment bussness out there for 20 years. And on top of it, mario does not need cruel weapons he just uses his fists like we all used to do in the old days.

Mario is the one and only hero that deserved first place, i already knew he would win befor the competition started. I'm a 100% pc gamer now and loved HL 1 and 2, but i grew up with mario like most people did. I even dare to say everyone that played a couple of games played Mario as well you can't say that about mr. Freeman.

However, the current vote is no real representation other then to create traffic and fun on the site.

The Freeman has my vote. Even better news is that I have seen treads like this on sites outside of gamepsot, I do believe that PC gamers are kind of uniting on this.

The Freeman versus Link? That's a no-brainer for me.

However, in the case that it comes down to him and Mario, I'll be torn... :?
