Hi guys. Recently, my computer is under a serious problem. When I was using my pc 2 days ago, all the devices connected to the USB ports stopped working. I'm not able to use my printer, mouse, cam or anything connected to USB ports. The devices are working fine. I tried them on another pc. I recently reinstalled my pc with xp sp3 and I also installed all the necessary drivers. I'm not able to find how the problem occured. A message keeps coming like this in the system tray-"USB device not recognized". Can anyone help me on how can I fix this problem?

It's possible that the USB controller is failing/has failed. I've seen this happen in a couple of slightly older machines that I've worked on.

It doesn't have to be old to have a malfunction. This is the same exact thing that happened when the USB controller failed on the other PCs that I worked on. It doesn't matter if all other devices worked fine in the past, if they're giving you that error now, you could have a big problem.

When I searched in Microsoft support, I found that it happens when a device has two ports-a USB or PS/2. My microsoft mouse has two ports. I'm using the USB port. It said that I need to install the latest version service pack of xp. But, I'm currently using the latest one, SP3.
