Any skirmish play in it? I'll download it regardless, but I'd still like to know.

It's made by people who use to work at westwood studios (command and conquer) that didn't want to join with EA. PC version should ship in december, consoles in February 08.

Oh, didn't know it had a demo released.
Thanks for the heads up. I've been wanting to give this game a try for a while now.

I'll wait for the full release. In my experience demos don't always do the game justice.

What was wrong with EaW anyway?

Game has a few bugs from my experience. Changing res will effect mouse movement not being able to cursor across the screen.

interesting article about this at Universe at Warnaval

As a software developer, I would argue that this article is largely incorrect. INTERNAL testing is the key to delivering a quality product. The modern public beta test is as much for publicity as it is for bug finding. Outside of fatal system issues, external testing isn't used for much. It is your paid QA team that's in the same building as the code monkeys that get the daily/weekly builds and test them. They're the ones that find the bugs and ballence problems.

Back on topic, I started the download before work and unfortunately Crysis is about to start consuming my life once I finish off the Brumak... just too many games.

As soon as I read those words on a gaming forum... I stop reading.

I played it. Its....OK.

There are some really neat ideas to it. I like how there werent many different units and essentially you can bring your base with you. Playing as the badass invading aliens is nice too.

as important as alpha stage (internal testing) , you should not neglect the importance of beta (selected public) testing espcially in pc gaming where there are almost infinte number of different hardware configurations

Hmmm I'm impressed, the game seems pretty decent. I like the unit design and all, just not sure how balanced/fun it is with the entire tech trees.

okay, I'm gonna give this game a try. My mind was set on SupCom: Forged Alliance, but perhaps this game is better.

I am having a problem with the demo. I downloaded it with the gamespot downloader, then installed. Just before the end of installation, everything closes as if it were finished, but nothing is installed. I tried it several times and got the same results. Any tips?

I played through the demo two hours ago. Seems fun, especially the whole portable-unit-maker :P
