Ahh, gotta love making a list of the things you love. Can only evoke good feelings, haha.
I'll try and organize these by favorites, but can't make any promises...
1.Half-Life
2.Half-Life 2
3.Farcry
4.UT2004
5.Morrowind (Also love Oblivion, but I play that on PS3)
6.Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
7.Black and White 2
8.Max Payne 2
9.IL2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles (GREAT GAME, haven't seen it mentioned in the thread...)
10.Crysis
That is my list. I'm not sure if Crysis should be on there considering it is still relatively new to me, and I only beat it once. I played levels over though, I really love it.
Thesefavoritesareonly my favoritesingle player experiences, call me strange but I don't want to put multi-player games on my top ten list, even though I have played CSS and DODS for many, many, many, hours of my life. I think multiplayer games might belong on a different list...
There are also older favorites that I simply LOVED as a younger one that I probably should put on my top ten, but did not. Such as:
Hidden and Dangerous, Doom (this should actually be very high on my top ten list...consider that an unofficial edit), The Oregon Trail, Crystal Caves, Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance.

Thank you for reminding me about Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance. I totally forgot about that game and omitted it off my list. Though it may not have made it on my top 10, does rank very close to it.....Just loved that game and the Mechwarrior series, wish that genre would return someday....:)

Definitely, that game was so damn good. Playing it with a decent joystick with a twistable stick was very awesome. I really loved that game. Then they put one on the XBox that had good graphics, but from what I had played of it, was nowhere near as good or true to the feel of Vengeance. They do need to make a new one, the graphics would be ridiculous and of course tons of fun to play.
In no particular order ( I mean how can you put the greatest games in a particular order!?)
1. System Shock
2. X-COM: UFO Defense
3. Sam & Max Hit the Road
4. Jagged Alliance
5. Planescape Torment
6. Terra Nova: Task Force Centauri
7. The Longest Journey
8. Zak McKrean and the Alien Mindbenders
9. Project Firestart (Commodore 64)
10. Outcast
My list includes expansions when mentioning the best games.
1. Tribes 2
2. Half-Life 2
3. Heroes of Might and Magic III
4. Asheron's Call 2
5. Roller Coaster Tycoon
6. Civilization IV
7. The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
8. Sacrifice
9. Warcraft III
10. Sim City 2000

Yes...I also played Mechassault on the original Xbox...I really enjoyed that too, but your right, it wasn't as good as the Mechwarrior series on PC. I think the Xbox version was really big in getting MS on-line gaming going in the beginning. I can remember a ton of Clans that sprung up due to the Xbox-Live. That would be really cool to see a new generation of Mechwarrior games created for PC gaming. Being able to customize your mech's and start Clan's for online play would be awesome !
