Hey guys, just a quick question for everyone. I am thinking about picking up The Witcher Enhanced but I wanted to know if it runs on Windows 7, seeing as how I am running Windows 7.

My Witcher is the retail copy of the UK version, not Steam's version, but it runs fine on my 7 64-bit.

No issues here with either the Steam or retail European version. Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate.

I, for some reason, have had performance issues with the game on W7 x64. My rig should be able to run it maxed out with no problem at 60+ FPS, but for some reason, in even moderately intense sequences, the game drops to 20 or lower. Can't figure it out. I have the Steam version, by the way.

The game uses NWN2's Aurora engine. If you are running Witcher Enhanced, with more than x4 AA on and full x16 AF, you should be experiencing some lag. HD 5850 is good, but it's not that powerful.

It happens even without AA/AF, which is why I'm stumped.

No problems whatsoever on Win7 32-bit with retail Enhanced Edition.

Bad engine is bad. Aurora was not meant to have all the high detailed models and textures the Enhanced edition brought into Witcher.

Well if it is using the same engine as NWN 2 then a solution may be to lower shadow settings or alt tab and then alt tab back in (or play in windowed). Me and my brother both have PCs that can max NWN 2 easily, but for some reason it was running terrible. Then my brother found out that it was the shadows and the solution was what I said before. Maybe that will fix your Witcher problem.

Its just not a well optimized game. Go read any review of it. Its probably the only complaint about the game you'll see in every review.

I have the Witcher enhanced edition and its patched up to version 1.5.

Version 1.5 removes the need for the Tages protection.

Am Running it on Win 7 64 bit.

My problem is that the game crashes after a while.

I either get the Black screens or the BSOD.

Other games like Titan Quest:Immortal throne/Supreme Commander run fine.

Tried the compatibility modes XP variants and they did not work.

Would like to play and finish this game.

every game made in the last 10 years will run on Win7. I wish people would stop asking. Usually fine, but sometimes a moment of googling will fix any hiccups.
