Will there be a Sims 3 demo out?

I was wondering because it would determine if my computer could run it.

No, there won't be a demo. You can see if you pass the minimum requirements here though:

Just click "Can you play it"

What are your specs? yougamers and smilar things are useless, they won't help you more than you can do yourself by reading the requirements and comparing them to your system.

Ouch :( it looks pretty bad, I doubt you'll even get in the game with an 6150 :( also the CPU is pretty old but considering that you need an 2.0 ghz P4, you'll be at the limit but you should be fine since at that time a 1.8 sempron was way over an 2.0 P4 and your RAM is pretty much enough but your integrated graphics card doesn't help :(.

Here at this forum we've had a lot of people asking this question.

It does kind of make sense, since most of the people who are going to be buying The Sims 3 aren't hardcore gamers. This series has managed to do what virtually all other games (including World Of Warcraft) haven't, which is to appeal to a broad base of customers, right across the spectrum.

If ever a game needed to have an accompanying demo, this game would be it. I can't answer your question O.P. - but my 'guess' is that you'll be able to run The Sims 3 by lowering some of the menu settings. The Sims 2, when it was initially released, was an incredibly demanding game. I believe that this title will be much less demanding, as it's obvious, just by looking at the screenshots, that the developer was told to make certain this game runs on a wide variety of systems. I'm not all that impressed by the graphics - to me The Sims 3 looks an awful lot like The Sims 2. But, again, the developer obviously didn't go all-out on the graphics because they were very deliberately trying to mkae this game run well.

Also, i heard that the developers set the specs low and that they are slightly higher than the sims 2...i could run sims 2 with 512 mb RAM, and i just added a GB. Anyways, whats the bottom line...yes or no?

I'd say yes, but I really doubt it won't stutter even on the lowest settings, your PC basically meets the minimum requirements, even your integrated graphics card but they recommend a graphics card, not an integrated one, even if they are similar any dedicated graphics card will be better than an integrated one.

I'd say wait till somebody tries it on an 6150 LE and then get it if it works fine.

I don't get the big deal. Why can't they just ship a demo?

Tough luck playing that game with a 6150 LE card...even Sims 2 won't run well on that card.

If there was a demo, it would have come out by now.
