I installed Swat 4 and everytime i try to start it up i get this error

Is it an original copy? If not, well, you get what you pay for! :)

If it is an original, then you should have done what I did. I just googled 'SWAT4 General Protection Fault problem'. That took me to the Sierra support page where the answer was got in 15 seconds! The first place to go for technical support is google search - not here. Be more pro-active! :)

Anyway, the answer is: Delete the swat4.ini file in the Content\System folder

i replaced the .ini file and now its telling me that i have no video

Are you playing SWAT 4 GOLD or the original?

I have recently purchased the gold edition and i've had no problems with it.

Are you using a no-cd crack? If not, then check out the official forums.

i bought swat 4 gold i checked them but theres no advice for me,
thay said that i should delete swat.ini file, which i did, but still can't launch the game,
someone pliiz tell me what should i do? :( :( :(

Don't want to waste your time; is it installed in Program files? (right-click start and explore and look for "Siera" in Program Files). Secondly have you go Service Pack 2 installed on your computer, some other guy asked that already but just to echo you should have it really...

That error is caused by the processor and/or the video card.

I am sorry to tell you that the only solution is to upgrade or get a new computer. When I tried to run UT2003, in my 32MB integrated video, it always appeared the "general protection fault". I upgraded to a real video card and the error disappeared.

But then the more recent Unreal Engine games came, and my PC always crashed with the "general protection fault", I changed my CPU. And now all games work fine.

I would tell you more but I've got to go to the university :P

But yeah, that's the only solution.

That means you are not good enough at FPSs to play the game. Swat 4 has an autodetection feature that prevents newbs from starting the game.

Need to "delete the swat4.ini located at the default setting of C:\Program Files\Sierra\SWAT 4\Content\System."

I'm getting the same error and my computer is good enough to run this game i can run games like crysis on max graphics... So i dont think its my system.
