Sonic has undoubtibly been my #1 favorite video game character for 20 years now, I remember when the game got first released on master system, I was about 3 years old. I been there for the good times and I stayed during the bad even know the bad times are going on over 10 years now, I had almost given up but this game sheds new light, I feel like they finally payed attention to us oldschool genesis gamers and thats where their loyalty should stay. This new image of sonic is really for the super young gamers and really this character should have never been portrayed this way.
I never really bought many of the comics but I had a few and ill be the first to tell you its not meant for kids, I have no idea why the games are.
I hope this game is very good this is the last sonic game ill ever buy if it isnt though if it is ill be buying more then one copy for my family if it is. Sega should go back to their roots for good. Change is good but they hadnt evolved in a good way.
Its sad that SonicFanRemix kicks the ass of any sonic game they had released for the past 10 years and its still only a demo. Sorry for derailment.
7 hours till it's unlocked (Midnight - UK)
I hope the game can make interested in Sonic again! I also hope the game runs well.
This game is going to insult mr classic sonic by saying he is the younger version of that anus. Also trooper I disagre, AOSTH is the best sonic show cause it's for kids.
The comics are unbeliavably bad.
I dont think you will run the game at all, why dont you go to newegg and spend $60 bucks on a much better video card that will play it on medium at least.
Already read through those requirements but nobody can tell for sure...yet. Besides, I've already pre-loaded it.tjoeb123
It might play. I mean BF3 requires an 8800GT, but I ran it on an 8600M GT...on the absolute lowest settings. You'll need a new video card, especially since Sonic is so amazing at 60FPS and HD :P Do yourself a favor and pick up a new one whenever you can.
So far so good, 60 fps (vsync is on) at 1920x1080 for max settings
I use a 5870 and an i7 930 @2.8 ghz
Edit: also, looks very nice, bright and smooth compared to the PS3 demo I was playing.
Awesome to hear that it performs well. I've got a 6870 and i5 2500k and will only be playing at 720p since I have no 1080p TVs in my house so I'm golden :D. Too bad I'm still at work.So far so good, 60 fps (vsync is on) at 1920x1080 for max settings

(Er, 75 as of this post.) All to open up the configuration tool. Then comes the 1st time install. Speaking of which, the preorder bonuses? The actual games make up less than 1/4 of the reported size. The rest is taken up by DX9 install files. Which come with every. single. game. on. Steam.[QUOTE="IZoMBiEI"][QUOTE="gameofthering"]

So much for being a crap port like other 3D PC Sonic games.[QUOTE="jedikevin2"]Running on configuration tools HIGH, HIGH, AA etc. Max 60 fps throughout (game locks to refresh rate i think) . Game looks amazing and enjoying it. 20 dollars well spent. mitu123
Nope strike that... Jsut hit one slow down. Act 3 with building collapsing dropped fps. Game though is portish though but they did give us classic configuration tools and controller layout can work for just about anything. Just uses a SNES controller, SNES arcade fight stick, ps2 with usb adapter, old logitech, and 360 wired and it all worked without much issue.

How low did the FPS go ?D= Love the controller support, lol.Love it how in the US the games $30 on Steam, yet in AU it's $50. :| So tired and over this price fixing. -CheeseEater-
Developer setting those wild prices. No idea why but probably some unlogical reasoning. I got mine on greenmangaming for 20 dollars and activated it on steam.
really impressed with this game, the only thing thats annoying is that voice that chimes in during boss fights to tell you exactly how to beat the bosses. but I guess most games these days are dumbed down like that. it was much more satifying beating the death egg robot in sonic 2 than this game, since figuring out the fight was half the fun.
I think I've finally figured out how to play Sonic Generations. As I played Green Hill Zone (Both modern and classic) for the first time, I raged past them at lightning speed without taking in anything and reaching the end with ease. A feeling of disappointment welled up inside me and I thought that the level design and the game in general was just mediocre.
The second time around, I decided to collect all the red coins and went considerably slower, keeping my hand away from that addictive dash button. I perused the drop-dead-gorgeous environments (Which are better on the PC with high resolution textures) and searched every nook and cranny for those red coins. What I found was nuances in the level design that just seemed non-existent on the first playthrough. Secret paths, branching areas, all you expect from a Sonic game of yore. This surprisingly applies to Modern Sonic levels as well despite Sonic Team's best efforts in trying to just make you hold the Quick Dash button the whole level.
It's not as detailed as older Sonic games in terms of hidden areas, etc and the level design sometimes prevents backtracking like I was used to doing in older games but it plays and controls well (Yes, I think the physics are good). This is only my impression of the Green Hill Zone though. I've heard the game takes a dip in quality on later levels (I hope that's not true).
Pre ordered and it hasn't even been sent out yet :( Very sad times, I really can't wait to play this. It's literally the first sonic game I have purchased since Sonic 2 on the Mega Drive... Oh wait I bought Sonic 3D blast >_>lucfonzyUh....you could since last night?

Can someone here who owns the PS3 or Xbox 360 version of the game tell me if it had slow down in Act 3 when the building collapses as this poster mentioned? I was thinking about buy this game for my PC, PS3 or Xbox 360.
