So what Steam games can you play offline?

What do you mean it didn't work?

It should (eventually) recognise you have no internet and go into offline mode, where it should be fine.

It is eternally frustrating. You can theoretically play something like Portal in offline-mode, but every second time you boot up your PC it asks you to go online again. It tries connecting to steam.. doesn't... asks if you want offline mode... then tries connecting again!

I'm probably missing something though.

You can play any Steam game offline (except multiplayer only games obviously.)

Yeah I believe it works, sequentially is more reliable, but the point is how it works. How they are selling it and how they are updating it. I know that have to get proportion, but we don´t have the same proportion when we buy it on a shop. and it can´t install Half life 2:episode one Disconnected (off line) for example. That´s not conclusive.

Half Life 2 did not work? Why? My advise goes to HF2 but, why do you want a game provided by steam offline? Steam is mostly for online gaming and chating, i don't see why offline but ok
