first off, i'm pretty new to playing games on the pc. i have a ps3 which got ylod last may after 3 and half years. i fixed it, but the usb ports had stopped working. i was able to play with one controller that was still paired by bluetooth until two weeks ago. so there goes my ps3, for now at least. anyway, i just got a new 13" macbook pro (2.4 C2D, GeForce 320m) a few weeks ago and i've been trying to play the pc version of mw2 on it. (mw2 is pretty much the only game i played on my ps3). i installed windows 7 64-bit and put MW2 on there. then i installed the driver to make the ps3 controller work on the laptop. i hooked it up to my 32" samsung and it was running almost as if it was running on my ps3. anyway, there's one little problem: on the ps3, when i aimed down the sight, the sensitivity automatically went down in order to give me greater accuracy when i'm pointing. on the pc, when i aim down the sight, the sensitivity is the same as if i'm just looking around. this makes it extremely hard to aim at someone online. is it possible to change the sensitivity to make it lower when i'm aiming down the sight? i understand that this is that i set the driver to use the buttons on the controller as if they were a keyboard and mouse. i don't seem to be able to use the controller if i set the driver to use it as a normal gamepad. help? anyone else that plays MW2 with a controller?

Im afraid you aren't going to get any help because no one uses a controller on pc games, its like bringing a knife to a gunfight, you will get owned.

Well, I use them on some games, but definitely not on first person shooters.

I honestly doubt you can fix something like that. Stuff programed into the game by the developers isn't likely to be fixed. All I can say is buy a decent mouse and play with that.

meh, it'll take forever to get used to keyboard and mouse considering i've been playing FPS with controllers for years.

It really shouldn't take forever; it's a pretty natural thing. Why don't you try it before you say it's going to take forever?

Played console games exclusively till I was like 11. Then I picked up and played PC shooters and got used to the controls in 5 minutes. Hardly forever.

After about a week playing with a keyboard and mouse you will not be able to use a dual analog controller ever again. If I try to play a console FPS with my friends it just doesn't work.

You can easily go back to using a controller, just prepare to get frustrated because its not as good as a mouse/keyboard.

Use a mouse until you replace/repair your PS3 then go back to playing on that. Despite how people make it sound, you can be proficient at BOTH controllers and K/M at the same time.

Yeah I read the post more closely, my mistake. Honestly, I would still recommend getting to try to play MW2 on the PC using the kb/m, you never know it might grow on you :P

if i recall correctly, the sensitivity decreases a little bit for the mouse when you aim down sights. not 100% sure. but i remember it being like that. so its quite weird that it doesnt decrease for your controller.

download pinnacle game profiler it should auto detect mw2 and have a profile for it already. go to gameprofiles > select the mw2 profile and click edit configurations > go to the aim down sight and click standard commands > edit commands then you need to click on edit steps > in activated events add a quick adjust and lower the mouse emulation sensitivity i used 45% for deactivated events add a quick restore. That will get you the effect you desire pinnacle is a really handy little program for games that don't support gamepad much better then xpadder you can also add rumble to certian keys like the right trigger so when you fire you get forcefeedback not as good as built in rumble support but better then nothing. That being said you should give mouse and keyboard a try cod despite all the hate it gets its really a game that is meant for pc it just controls so perfectly with the mouse and keyboard not to surprising considering the series origins are on the pc

I don't understand why anyone would play a FPS with a gamepad when they have a mouse and keyboard available to them.
