My PC died a few years ago. Looking to get back into PC gaming but going with a laptop this time.

I'm looking at the HP Omen 17. It has a RTX 2070 Super, i710750H, 16GB RAM.

Will this perform well with modern games? How about games being released over the next few years? Is there a better option I should consider in the same price range?

NVM. I bought the laptop. Wow, these forums used to get a lot of traffic. Obviously not anymore.

While that's true, I feel like waiting just ~2 hours before getting bummed out or pissed off that nobody responded to your thread is a bit petulant. You couldn't wait a few hours for an answer on the HP Omen?

@xantufrog: You call it petulant. I call it speaking the truth. To answer your question, I waited long enough.

@x-2tha-z: Most would have told you to avoid a laptop unless you need the portability as laptops have worse performance and bang for your buck than desktops. AIso, if going the laptop route, it is better to hold off on the purchase and wait for the RTX 3000 series to release on laptops. RTX 2070 is a decent GPU, but it is also a couple of years old and the laptop versions are scaled back due to heat and power constraints. So, it is not going to be that great for upcoming demanding games.

If a laptop is what you want, this one looks like it will do just fine for gaming.

Enjoy!
