Steam is having a sale I want to take advantage of, 66% off of Borderlands and it's expansion packs. I only want one of the packs, "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx". My question is, do you need the two previous add-on packs before you can access this one? Thanks in advance for any help. :)

EDIT: sorry for my bad wording, I was in a hurry, I meant I wanted the one add-on pack with the core game, I just don't want the previous 2 add-on packs.

You cannot buy addons on Steam unless you have the original game on Steam. With the sale they are running though you can get the game and all the expansions for less than 20 bucks. That's what I did a few months ago when they ran a similar sale. Then just give your retail copy to a friend and have them play.

I didn't mean the DLC by itself, I meant I only want that pack with the core game, not the previous 2 packs.

Oh, then yeah, they are separate purchases and do not require the other expansions to work. But Zombie Island is also fun and very humorous.

Like others said considering how cheap it is should get island of Zed also. Moxxi only if you have friends to team with.

Ok I did get the Island Of Dr. Ned too, but Moxxi I did leave alone. So far I am enjoying the game. I am currently level 7 though, I am pretty much still getting used to it. At first I had problems with game performance (it lagged a lot), but for some reason after re-starting the game it now is running smoothly. The visuals are stunning, this is my first cel-shaded PC game, some of the best cel-shaded graphics I have seen in games imo. I hope a lot of people play this online so I can get into some co-op. :)

Well if you like Borderlands keep an eye out for Rage coming in 2011. Pretty much another borderlands with better graphics.
