Nothing about Motioninjoy is garbage.
The only thing I don't like about it is the **** advertisements and web browser interface. Other than that, it works perfectly.Don't use MotionJoy, it's garbage.

Indeed, even if it's not being used as such, it functions like malware.

The local, trusted driver is being controlled by that awfull online interface.
This is what i use and it's worked perfectly with burnout paradise (just makes everything think it's an xbox controller).
It also works fine with a dirt cheap bluetooth adapter.

I suppose this is the best way then :)
DS3 Tool works for me. Does pretty much anything I could possibly want.KHAndAnime
Question is, do you want the MJ maintainer to have a backdoor into your PC?
MotionJoy is set up like a trojan; at least the configuration part is.

Who would go through this back door?[QUOTE="KHAndAnime"]DS3 Tool works for me. Does pretty much anything I could possibly want.MlauTheDaft

Do you have any proof of this vulnerability and how feasible it is for someone to gain access?

Yes and no..... I don't have time to google for linkage at this very moment, but I can leave you with this:
Â
The driver itself is installed and marked as trusted by Windows. The GUI part of motionjoy - (which controls the driver) however, is browser based thus allowing remote acces through commands to the trusted driver.
I'm not saying it's being done, but it's absolutely possible and exactly how malware works.
Edit:
Here's what convinced me:

"
DS3_Tool.exe from MIJ will check for updates from motioninjoy.com, if there are any available, they will be downloaded and installed, without asking you. Im not saying the author of MIJ has malicious intent, however, if they decide not to continue maintaining the domain, an attacker could purchase the domain and use it to distribute malware to everybody using DS3_Tool.exe. DS3_Tool.exe will happily execute the instructions provided to it by motioninjoy.com. Nothing bad can happen when DS3_Tool.exe is not running.
This ability only exists in DS3_Tool.exe itself, not the MIJFilter driver.
Better DS3 aims to replace DS3_Tool.exe without requiring an internet connection, so yes, it works offline. It never communicates over the internet at all."

There's an option to check for updates by itself, but I've been using it since 2010 and never had it auto update when I had it selected. You could always get the offline tool to use if one was paranoid about it. The tool has ads because he uses the revenue to pay for the yearly fee for the security certificate. It's pretty secure.

Paranoid or not, it works just like malware.

Not if you get or operate the offline version.

I'm sure it's just one of a million other backdoors installed on our PC's. Good thing I'm not holding any top-secret information on my PC.[QUOTE="MlauTheDaft"][QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"]
