So i had vista ultimate instaled on one of my partitions for a couple days and today i decide to unistall it so i started on Xp and formated the vista partition and i tought that should be it, but now everytime i start my pc i still getting the OS selection screen to choose xp or vista if i choose vista it gives me a error since i erased everything on the partition anyone knows what file i have to erase/edit so i wont get the boot screen anymore? My boot.ini file looks like this:; Warning: Boot.ini is used on Windows XP and earlier operating systems. ; [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN /FASTDETECT
Put your XP setup disc in the drive, restart the PC, let the setup load, go to the repair console and use the fixboot command Dirk you are the best, always a very helpfull guys props to you man, the problem is fixed!
