Just wondering. One of the main reasons I play my pc so much more, isn't only for the visuals, but for the strategy experience I can't on consoles. I'm just interested to see if people who are pc gamers, don't like strategy games.

Last time I played an RTS I got bored and the computer kicked my ***... so I sort of didn't try anymore. BTW the RTS in question was Warcraft III. And it was fairly recently too.

I'm not really big on RTS but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a good game.

I'm huge into RTSs. It's one of the few genres that has enough variety for me to never get tired of, along with RPGs and racing games.

Just looking at those Warhammer games makes me want to put a gun in my mouth, I don't know how anyone can play that crap.

I've never been a fan of RTS due to the fact that I haven't ever really played one. I've heard great things about Civ4, but there is no demo so I can't be sure if it's worth buying, I just haven't wanted to take the risk on a few lost dollars. I'd love to play RTS games, I'm waiting for SC2 to drop in price, but I may be waiting for a life time. Every time I have tried to play an RTS game I couldn't figure out wtf to do. Although I played some of the SC2 campaign and it was pretty helpful in explaining everything to me.

I don't play strategy games often at all, and that's soely because I'm absolutely terrible at them. I've never been able to "micro" or anything like that. Usually when I play an RTS against a player or computer I will end up having like 2 buildings while the other team has already amassed an entire army.

I used to play them quite often in the 90s. But the transition to 3D wasn't kind to me and I've only really enjoyed a handful of those games, like starcraft 2.

I used to LOVE RTS, with the Old school Command and Conquer games under WESTWOOD. Then came along EA... they bought it, broke the team up and forever ruined the series and in one weekend. Since then, ive always turned a blind eye to RTS's, but i will occaisonaly go back and throw down some C&C Red Alert or C&C Tib sun.

I don't hate them, I play them from time to time, but I'm just not the biggest fan of them, it's not even in my top 5 favorite genres for that matter.

I don't play RTS's because I'm horrible at them, but I love turn based strategy games. I just prefer to be able to take my time and think about my strategy.

Same thing kinda happened to me. I loved the old CnC when I was a little kid. I would play them for hours. Now I can barely get into any of the new series.

I do, but mostly turn based ones. I don't like having to do all the micro management involved with a lot of RTS games.

I won't play strategy games that don't have an RPG mix. Huge fan of Heroes of Newerth, Heroes of Might and Magic, Total War, King Arthur, King's Bounty, Company of Heroes and Dawn of War 2: The Last Stand.

On the flip side I don't like the typical resource gathering RTS, 4X, Civ-likes, and Paradox Strategy games. They almost always get too stale for me because since there is no room for development you are left with a few viable strategies. Starcraft II is the only game in this catergory that I will watch, but not play, just because of the sheer variation in what certain players (TLO or HuK) do.

I love strategy games, especially turn-based (like X-COM, Jagged Alliance and Heroes of Might and Magic), 4X (like Civilization, Sword of the Stars and Master of Orion) and city builders (like Sim City, The Settlers and Anno).

Love 'em. It's not like I don't like other sorts of games, but strategy is definitely the genre that occupies most of my gaming time.

They are technically action RPGs with strategy elements but most people think of them as strategy games.

I would definitely consider them strategy games. Just not your typical resource gathering, army building RTS.

2 and 4 are mostly the same.

I choose option 6, I play them as much as any other genre, but RTS, city building simulators and TBS are three of my four, well five, favorite genres, the others are RPG and "indie" (indies in general since there are a lot of genres for indies, but they're in a world of their own).

I play lots of strategy games, and shares second place with RPGs as far as what I play the most (the first being sandbox like X3 or the Sims). Homeworld, Sins of a Solar Empire, Master of Orion, Heroes of Might and Magic, King's Bouty, TOTAL WAR! Oh yea lots of fun for me that's for sure! :D

I don't really like em, too easy but time consuming. I prefer old school turn based Strategy games like shining force 1+2, which is relavent since they were ported to the pc (which is how I played them, god i love the 90s)

I love them, but typically I'm bad at the mechanics, so I compromise and play Turn Based ones instead :). I do love Starcraft II, though, I'm just bad at it, but I plan on starting up again once the new season is out.

I don't play RTS or RPGs much.

The last RTS I played (and liked) was Rise of Nations. I played AoE3 but didn't like it much. RoN, however, remains one of my favorite games of all time.

The only proper RPG I've ever liked was Baldur's Gate 2. I didn't like Neverwinter Nights or Dragon Age or Oblivion. I loved Mass Effect, but that's more of a shooter. And I really like The Witcher.

I prefer shooting people

I'm in the "don't like the pole choices" group. I'm with the "too fanboyish" comment earlier. That said I can take them or leave them. Some really got me, mostly the older ones. I'm love turn-based games. But real time isn't my thing. My dad loved them but I went the FPS/RPG route.

Haven't tried one in a while, the last one I tried crashed on me, so I went on to other genres.
