Made a few swaps on craigslist and long story short, I basically am paying only $100 for a brand new never used 4GB Visiontek R9 290 with 2 months warranty still intact so I figured out why not just keep it instead of selling it since it was such a great score but I never built a water cooling loop before so im here to ask what are the things I need? The block is already installed on the GPU I just need everything else, what should I buy. I really only want to spend around $100 do I need to loose an arm and a leg to get this card up and running?

You'll have to find yourself a custom water loop or you can buy yourself Swiftech cooling solution and add a tube and a bracket

You can get most stuff that you need locally. A few feet of tubing will run you about $10 at a hardware store, an inline pond pump costs about $20 at Petsmart, or about $25 online, Hayden transmission coolers run $25 -$30 at auto parts stores, and non-toxic propylene glycol boat antifreeze is only about $5-$10 a gallon. A 12" x 5" transmission cooler is the perfect size for 2x 120mm case fans. Or, you could go all out and get a 12" x 10" version and use 4x 120mm fans. Personally, I use the latter...

Would I be able to just use this?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181035&cm_re=water_cooling-_-35-181-032-_-Product

Ill just use the CPU cooler and splice the GPU to it.

Wont work,

Here, this adapter will allow you to put that cooler on a gpu.

As an aside, check your VRM temps once you're up and running before considering any kind of overclocking, a lot of water cooling setups will let vrm temps go over 100C+ at stock clocks.

If you use H110 with Kraken G10 then you'll only be watercooling your GPU.

It turns out the guy had a kit lying around and gave it to me for free. The card is up and running without having to spend a dime on extra parts =]

i have never tried watercooling a GPU, but i read that its harder to setup then a CPU water cooler.

I also read when you remove the fan, you have to make sure the memory is cooled, because the gpu fan also cools the memory on the card and when you switch to a waterblock you lose that and have to cool the memory some way.... i have no idea if newer video cards require this or not since i haven't really done much research into gpu cooling for a couple years.

Full cover waterblocks do cool everything that needs to be cooled. These are the GPU specific. There are also universal blocks which only cool the GPU core.
