Yea, but most places are only taking pre orders, mine has been shipped and is arriving tomorrow

I'd rather see a High end CPU then mid-end... even though they all look the same LOL.
The only thing i'd like to see would be how much can you overclock it.

Q9450>>>>>Q6700
45NM
20-30% PERFORMANCE INREASE OVER KENTFIELDS
SSE4
I'd consider Q6700 Mid-end
Please , don't be offended at my post. Typing something on a forum can be read incorrectly and taken as a "Insult" versus a verbal communication.
I think I know what your getting at here. Once you have the CPU you may have OC'ing questions (or some other type , like hardware) about it and I think you may be concerned others do not believe you have it in the first place. Just take the pic of it if this is what your thinking to prove you have it. Many will be skeptical once you claim you have it , IMO.

Why would they be skeptical

Having unlocked multiplyer can help your overclocking stability issues with certain motherboards.

yea, crap ones
LOL... man are you sure your not really here just to brag about your new CPU?
Take lots I would really like to actually see them, anyone would be stupid to not take up this opportunity to admire the Q9450!shearMario
but it will look not different to any othe 45nm Intel cpu!
why get that when u can just as easily OC a Q6600 those things r born to overclock and uh seriously blog this...mechwarrior_bob-Q6600s have 8 MB of L2 cache. Q9450s have 12 MB. -Q6600s will generate more heat from being 65nm parts. Q9450s are 45nm and will generate much less heat, allowing for higher overclocks; this is the reason why E8x00-series CPUs can easily hit 4+ GHz on air. -Q9450s have SSE4, which already results in nice speed gains for apps that support it(usually video encoding programs). Q6600s don't. I like my Q6600 and all, but the only advantage it has over the Q9450 is the fact that it has a 9x multiplier rather than an 8x one-something that can easily be negated by the Q9450's higher overclocking potential if your motherboard can handle the increased FSB stress. Well, that, price, and availability.

I agree with you but the 8x is really the killer to the Q9450...
Almost all motherboards will be lucky to hit 450FSB, 3600mhz, something the Q6600 can do easily.
The BEST motherboards will be LUCKY to hit 475FSB, 3.8ghz.
You instantly go from spending ~$100 on a motherboard that might do 450FSB and up to I might get lucky to get 475FSB for +$200. So save about $200 and go the Q6600 route and pretty easily hit 3.6ghz or spend +$200 more than the Q6600 route and get the Q9450 and a very good motherboard to try and get lucky and hit higher than 3.6ghz.
I would rather save my $200 and just try to get lucky with a Q6600.
Edit- So the question we should ask is, what motherboard does he have or is going to get...
I'd like to see it. I heard they were coming out on the 24th this month (actually sooner, but that didn't happen). So, hopefully soon. Once that happens I'll pick one up and probably start building.
And I'm actually considering getting decent DDR3RAM and just go with the nforce 790i now. :)

But a Q9450 clocked at same speed as Q6600 will outperform the Q6600?It's obvious he's here to brag. He's getting a new rig, so being an attention-seeking kid desperate for validation, thought of some half-baked question to ask just so he could megaphone to the world that he's getting a new rig.
What he doesn't realize is of course, no one really cares AT ALL.. but hey, what matters is that he feels better on the inside right?
Hah. I admit, I was pretty harsh.. but I never feel guilty about trashing the ego of someone like this.
