  1. What is the most you ever paid for a pc game? What game?
  2. What is the least you ever paid for a pc game legit*? What game?
  3. Did you feel like you got ripped off or do you think it was money well spent?

* Do not include any type of stolen or pirated games as this is not a good topic of discussion

  1. Me personally? $80 for World of Warcraft: Collector's Edition
  2. $5 for Beyond Good and Evil
  3. I felt guilty that I bought BG&E for $5...seriously, after I played the game, I would've happily paid $30-$40 on it

The most I've ever spent on a PC game is £35 or $70ish - that was Gears of War. I payed so much because I bought it in a high street shop, and they charge extortionate prices. If I had been willing to wait a day or two, I could've gotten it online for £25 or $50. Not money well spent at all - but at the time I had a huge amount of disposable income, and didn't really care.

The least I've ever spent on a PC game was £0.99, or around $2 - that was Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow. It came bundled with a graphics card and a lot of people didn't want it. They were practically giving it away. In fact, I actually spent more on postal delivery than I did on the game. Great bargain.

Just to put it out there, the most I've ever spent on any game was £85 or $170ish for the PlayStation version of a collector's edition of Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Worth every penny. Would have happily spent twice as much.

1. i never spent more than the usual price for a PC game.

2. $10 for fallout 1 and 2 bundle.

3. It was $10 for 2 games...even if they were crappy, I really couldn't complain. But they aren't crappy, it's Fallout 1/2!!

1. 110$ on Heroes of Might and Magic Complete Collection

2. 15$ on X3 GOTY

3. Well I wouldn't say I was ripped off but 70$ on UT3 wasn't quite worth it :(, it is a good game and there will be tons of mods for it, but as a game it was a lil toot much for what it is.

it was like the First Star Wars RTS and it sucked hard...so boring

mechwarrior_bob

Would that be Force Commander or Galactic Battlegrounds (Star Wars mod of AoE2)?

EDIT - Also, I might be looking at getting a new low for my answer depending on the answer to this question: Would Advent Rising be worth $3? (current 48-hour madness sale on GoGamer)

1) Uhhhh Lost Planet for £25 (I'm a cheapskate and get all my games fairly cheap...)

2) I got Starcraft for only £1.50 or something. I forget the exact price but it was super cheat XD

3) I think Lost Planet was well worth the money I paid for it, great game. Really buggy and has a terrible online interface, but it's great nonetheless. Starcraft was a bargain IMO. Even for a game its age £1.50 kinda makes me feel like I was stealing it, since the game is so awesome xD Not to mention it came with Brood Wars!

3.Its always a ripoff to pay for monthly fees and then it was awesome that i got such a great game he loves for 3 bucks

Most: I think around $100 to import Secret of Mana with a converter thingy from the U.S.

This reminds me how relatively cheap video games are compared to say ten years ago. I recently saw my old X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter box with a £35 ($70) sticker on it!

1. Warcraft 3 Collector's edition (was somehwere around 40 bucks).

2. Emperor: Battle for Dune (5 bucks, due to major discount)

3. More than satisfied with WC3. Battle for dune was ok, but westwood could have done better. I guess that explains why it was selling for so cheap).

1. Bioshock, I paid 49.99 plus tax. No, it was not worth it.

2. Fallout 1 and 2, I paid 4.99 for it and it was worth every penny. Although I did get a copy of Deus Ex free with my Sound Blaster card if that counts; it is my favorite game ever, and it was merely by coincedence that I got it lol.

1) i've bought some games for the full retail price - like mass effect recently.

2) i've gotten several games for free (legitimiately); the most recent was company of heroes, which came with my 8600gt.

3) depends on the game...

Most I ever paid was $50 each for Oblivion and Bioshock. Felt let down after both purchases.

Least I ever paid was $10 for Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and HL2 e1. Both well worth it. And the very least I paid was free for ET:QW, since that came bundled with my 8800gt.

  1. i dont think ive even gone over £30 for any PC game, i only paid £15 for the orange box and about £25 for the DoW boxset. mass effect's going for £32 in gamestation but its only 326 on play.com [guess which 1 i'll be getting it from?]
  2. PC's amazing for bargains, i nearly spent my last £6 on the BG 1&2 boxset [and now regret not getting it], also spent £6 on the doom3 expansion [that ive never even played because ive not finished doom3 :(
  3. i think doom3 is the only game i can think of that ive felt i didnt get a good deal on, considering i got it for about £25 and the next week it was going for a tenner everywhere. also im kinda regretting getting the witcher, really wishing id waited and got the new edition with all the extra stuff thats getting packed in thats coming out soon, because as soon as i heard that was coming i felt like just not playing it until the patch came out and it feels like im having to force myself through it just to see what the differences will be :(

Last year I bought the exp. for Civ. 4 the Warlords for $1.57 in the clearance bin and last week I picked up the Warchiefs exp. for $5.00-not to bad. I've been watching ebay for System Shock 2, and the prices are ridiculous-its going to cost me $40.00 for a nearly 10 year old game!

Most I've ever paid was for World in Conflict Collector's Edition at $60. Now I wish I'd never done it, its not a bad game, but I could've gotten Battlefield 2 for that extra $10 instead of just a little piece of the Berlin Wall.

Least I've ever paid was $3 for Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth. That was well worth the price even though I didn't really like the game that much.

1. I paid $80 for some so called game that was supposed to help deal with stress in a new age deep breathing exercise kind of way.

2. Target wanted to get rid of Dungeons & Dragons Online really bad. That had it marked down to $8 when it was still full price everywhere else.

3. Both were rip offs. I've never played either one. I wanted too when I got but they ended up on a shelf while I was finishing up something else. They are still on that shelf.

1. Around $70 US for the Collector's Edition of The Witcher. To me, it was very much worth it.

2. Around $4.00 for Advent Rising. Also, very much worth it. Very underrated game, imho.

1: The most I spent on PC games are multiple games at $50. However, the most I paid for a non-PC game was 70-ish for Lunar 1 for PS1.

2: If this counts, I recieved The Witcher for free when I bought my graphics card. But if it doesn't, the cheapest game I bought that I can think of was Universe at War for $9.

3: Easily worth the money (well at least the specific games I mentioned). Universe at War in particular was a pleasant surprise.

Prices are high in Israel so:

1.100$ for GOW 2(the $ is quite low right now so it would be 150$ if i would have bought it now)

2.10$ for Nox(a great non-famous RPG{1999 i think})

3. I feel ripped off every single time

1. $50 for CoH + $50 for CoV + 2 years subscriptions = $460 over the span of two years. I guess that would be $320 for CoH only since CoV came out 18 months later. I enjoyed my time with it.

2. I think it was $10 for Vampire: The Masquerade because Steam was having to massive sale. It was WELL worth it. I would have gladly paid more.

3. I paid full price for Quake Wars and I bairly played more than a couple days, so I feel completely ripped off from it.

EDIT: I just remember that I won both Neverwinter Nights 2 and Prey in a LAN competition. Neverwinter Nights was good, but I think I got ripped off with Prey.
