I don't care if it doesn't look any better than the first one because I still found that more impressive than Crysis 2, and its bound to look better than its predecessor.
Im tempted to read up on some of the story but I would rather not spoil it for myself :?.
Idk whats wrong with the ppl in this thread, but that looks amazing

Seriously. This looks better than Crysis and on-par with The Witcher 2.

Same here. The first was the only game to give Crysis vanilla a run for it's money, even modded at some points. It's atmosphere is second only to The Witcher 2 IMO.
I'm not gonna spoil it for myself either. I'm not sure how accurate it is to the book's sequel though.
Meh, looks about as good as hard reset.

I wish Deus ex HR looked like that ....

Deus ex had to hold back in some ways otherwise our minds would be completely blown
well they say that the engine is more optimized this time around and will get more optimized by release. And in an interview they stated all the gameplay in theirvideos were ran from a gtx 590 and implied that it ran at a smooth 60fps.Looks sweet. Very much looking forward to it. Too bad it'll look nothing like that on my rig. I was able to play the first Metro with nice graphics, though, so I hope I can with this too.

Dumbass A.I that takes from the enjoyment. And the level design is a little on the repetitive side. The original Deus Ex is miles better in that regard.
Looks pretty good. I still say BF3 is better due to its scale and destructability, and the fact that it just looks better, but not by much. Can't wait to play this one too.

I remember looking in the trailer it looked pretty desctructable the cover was getting carved out by bullets
As good as it looks I'm really worried about the performance, Metro 2033 was severely unoptimized and the DX11 features did almost nothing with a gigantic FPS hit.
Looks phenomenal.
Everything I've seen so far about this game makes me think it will be an improvement over the original
Words can't describe the excitement I have for this game. 2033 is one of my favorite shooters ever and I still consider it the best looking game I've played(well, until Battlefield 3 comes out). Everything I've seen of Last Light looks even better.
Just look at the rocks and textures on the ground and walls. It goes from high res textures to low blurry mess. The texture mapping is pretty poor in places and the geometry just jutts out at random places. This is not acceptable when you have a game that runs so terribly.
1st pic: What's that random fortune cookie looking rock on the left side of the screen? Is his hand a steel mesh or woolen glove? The textures on the gun look awkward.
2nd pic: What's that band of low res metal on the lower bottom left corner? And what's that entire black strip on the right side of the page?
3rd pic: Why do rocks suddenly disappear in a rectangular shape on the left side of the picture?
4th and 5th pic: Same as 2nd. As well as the low poly debris.
The game looks good, but not Crysis modded good. All they did was add high precision lighting effects as well as a **** load of unoptimized bokeh blur and motion blur. Boris, the guy who made ENB does this all the time, and optimizes it too. The guys who made Metro are brilliant at effects and lighting but let themselves down with the out of place texturing and low res geometry.
I don't know why some people feel underwhelmed by those screenshots, they look amazing. If you remove the gun and arms from the 2nd image, it almost looks like concept art.
Dx9 ran pretty well, it was dx11 and 10 that had the issues without really adding anything.Looks great, if they dont optimise it like they didnt metro 2033 then its a fail.

Honestly, I could care less if it's the best looking game ever made as long as it plays well. Metro 2033 was criminally underrated. I loved that game so much and put it in my top 3 of the year when it came out, if you couldn't tell from my sig haha. I even named my computer Boris because it was the first game I played after I built it. I don't remember if there is a character named Boris in the game, but it sounded vaguely Russian haha
I know how you feel. I put in over 50 hours into that damn game. There are few SP games that I have put that many hours into....hell mp too.Honestly, I could care less if it's the best looking game ever made as long as it plays well.
