So the site I bought my ME3 says I will get the code on 7th March.

Since this is my new PC, I will play through ME1 and 2 to get the save files.

My question is, how long will it take me to complete ME1 and 2 (I'm a total completionist, everything must be discovered and completed) so that I can dive straight into ME3, should I start playing tomorrow (friday)? I can play probably 6 hours a day.

For ME1... around 40-50 hours and for ME2 around 50-60 (With DLC).

Also, at least it's shorter than Dark Souls :p

Lol, I just got done playing ME 1 took me about 20 hours to beat it without all the planet searching. And right now im going through ME2 so far im 22 hours in with all DLC and I still have help three of the crew with their missions and yet have went to the omgea 4 relay yet, so i would say an easy 30+ hour game.

I can usually play through both games in about 5 days with everything completed. It shouldn't take you 8 days so there's no rush.

Those ME 1 numbers are unreal @_@ I finished it in a day, 9 hours the main story and some side quests (they were terrible, but I loved the Mako) after a while I finished it completely and it took just 15-16 hours, wasn't rushing it, but 40-50 hours seems unreal it didn't have half the content needed for so much time, unlike ME 2 that has about 32-34 hours of content (with the DLC from release, the free DLC they released after not included and also no premium DLCs).

You could just go to the infamous ME1 and ME2 save file website. I only encourage this if you have played ME1 and ME2 before, of course, and you know your alignment - main plot choices, love affairs, who survived or died, etc. This will knock out 50+ hours of game time. If you never played ME1 and/or ME2, I highly implore you to play through them and do not rush. Cheers.

Took me nearly 20 hours to finish ME1. I took my sweet azz time. :P ME2, more than 20 hours, without any of the DLC's. I love the Shadow Broker DLC. :)

40-50 hours? Wow, you guys must spend a lot of time looking at the screen.. I haven't done everything but I've gotten at least 85-90% done on both games. I say 30-40 hours at the most if you happen to get stuck and wonder "what am I suppose to do". I've reached 29-hours in ME1 without DLCs and 28 hours with DLCs in ME2. Most of the time spent on both games were due to: mako surfing/exploring and planet scanning.

Even with the scan boost speed, scanning every single planet was excruciating. I actually 100% complete every planet available. The completionist in me...

The story of 1 can be done in under 17 hours, but that's rushing through. My subsequent playthroughs took closer to 35 hours to get the "completionist" achievement, but I didn't do the stuff where you had to hunt down resources or collectibles.

As for ME2, I've only played through the game once, surprisingly. I suppose when ME3 comes out I'll want to put in another playthrough to perfect things, but at the same time, I sort of feel like that one playthrough is my "canon" storyline and whatever will be, will be.

54 hours for ME1 for me and 33 hours for ME2, I like to hunt down as many side missions as I can. ME1 lasted alot longer then ME2 for me personally.

You can finish them in about 20 hours if you rush through them though and dont do all the side missions and read all the codex

LOL i got every planet but I didn't extract everything to "depleted". I did this on the 360 a while back and I just played this on my second playthrough recently with the latest PC patch. I'm confused get over the fact that they made the requirements for ship upgrades less than what it was back on the 360. I remember I had to scan almost every planet to get all available upgrades for the 360 version. Did they patch that up or did I just have a bad memory because the PC version was done pretty fast for me?
