Mass Effect 2 I didn't like the original Bioshock. It just wasn't that entertaining.

I guess I'm moving on towards Bioshock, because this horror and suspense is my thing. However I also like RPG's, so I guess I'll have to wait till I get my hands on both of them :D

bioshock was, and will be, a shooter. A couple vending machines and the ability to swap out weapons doesnt make it otherwise

mass effect is a party-based action RPG

so there really is no comparison. I prefer Mass Effect; Bioshock was dull, predictable, and lacked excitement.

,

What happens is this - Sites like Gamespot decide which games they want to push - and that's all anyone hears about for months. Look at the character profiles, interviews, etc.

They did the same thing with Dragon AGE - it was on the front page for SIX MONTHS. Unfortunately this fools a lot of people, many of whom are now finding out that DA is just a mediocre game, and they should have spent their money on something else.

I'm pretty sure I'm buying Bioshock 2, but right now the characters in ME2 are so unlikable that it doesn't look like I'll be picking it up.

"mass effect 1 wasn't too good, but mass effect 2 seems like a really nice deus ex style cyberpunk" I disliked mass effect like you did. I can see that Assasin creed 2 is improved and L4D2 but i got the feeling that mas effect 2 will be the same borring experiance as the first.....for me!!! Therefore bioshock 2 might not be much of a sequel, but atleast the singleplayer compaign will be prety good.

Mass Effect 2 if it had multiplayer. It looks like they enhanced the experience a lot, the cover system is way more dynamic as well as those classes and other stuff, I'll finally not get my a** pwnt at higher difficulty levels. But you know, Bioshock 2 has multiplayer, and it looks pretty good.

Many people are finding out Dragon Age is mediocre? You're trolling, right? Besides receiving numerous positive reviews from critics, I've never seen anyone call DA mediocre. If it's not for you, fine, but it's far from mediocre. Dragon Age is Bioware's best game since Baldur's Gate 2, and although I loved Mass Effect, Dragon Age has it beat in every category. On topic: Looking forward to ME2 more. I like Bioshock, but I got tired of it towards the end and have no interest in the sequel.

Both games look absolutely fantastic. I'm especially excited for Mass Effect 2 considering the series is a 3-part trilogy where your actions from the previous game in the series affects the stories in the sequels. Although Bioshock 2 has such a great atmosphere it's hard to imagine not getting this game as well.

its not the marketing sites

bioshock really does have bad marketing

all their videos are really only gameplay videos with big daddy's shooting people

while mass effects promotional videos are kinda story videos and much more interesting

I will probably enjoy ME 2 more since it is a bioware rpg and bioshock is just a horror survival fps. I will definitely enjoy both but I've been hyping ME 2 especially after Dragon Age.

I think i'll like ME2 better than Bioshock 2, simply because i'm a RPG fan and loved ME1. But i'm getting them both so...it's not an issue for me.

Bioshock was great, but nothing ever moved me to visit game forums to talk about it. I replayed the game once. It's a shooter, but I've played better. Vending machines, different weapons and abilities--they weren't very new to me anyway. The environments were very atmospheric, but still not creepy enough for my tastes.

Mass Effect's background story was...really, REALLY cool IMO (though I had my fair share of dreams of Rapture). It felt more epic. The RPG elements and combat were fitted in to be satisfying for me, to say the least. Still, in some way, both games' combat/shooter mechanics were a bit off and strange.

If I had only one choice I'd go for ME2. It looks like there will be more content, and it's generally a more expansive game. But I'm getting both :D

If I had to choose I would Mass Efefct 2. The way the story is going and just being a Big Daddy in Bioshock 2 I worry that it will not be as good as the first game. Mass Effect 2 seemed to have gotten better with the exception of the colling rods for the guns.

Bioshock was a letdown after SS2. They stripped all the RPG elements out of it. I don't know how they can call it a RPG/FPS. Although the game itself wasn't bad. It was decent. But it didn't have any depth.

I'm kind of surprised so many are voting for Mass Effect. As I've noticed alot of PC gamers didn't particularly care for the first. The story sure wasn't Asimov. But it was entertaining to me. I would say the last level was one of my favorite last levels in any game ever.

Mass Effect 2 for me.

I hear ya, I was incredibly unimpressed with Bioshock. The style, story, and levels were amazing; but the combat was so excruiciatingly boring, it just turned me off.

Mass Effect on the other hand, IMO, one of the best RPG/FPS hybrids I've ever had the luck of getting my hands on. I'm really excited for ME2.

I'll have to go with Mass Effect 2, it just looks like more of a deeper experience. And I enjoyed ME1 quite a bit. It was pretty cool being the head dude in charge and having your own space craft to travel through the galaxy (they could've built upon that feature more imo, hopefully ME2 will).

I'd say Mass Effect 2. Though I was, and still am, in love with Bioshock, I find it hard to imagine how 2k Marin (which lacks a Ken Levine) can repeat the (forgive me for using this word) epic-ness Bioshock had, especially with its story. It's not common to find a game that could place true emotions of fear, loneliness and shock, let alone repeat it in a sequel. Gameplay-wise, Bioshock 2 will probably be an improvement to Bioshock when it comes to the use of Plasmids and guns. Story-wise, it will be hard to recreate or even exceed the impact given by Bioshock.

As for Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect did not really put up a massive amount of impact to its players and so the only pressure ME2 will have will be on how it can create a good story as ME1 and how it will improve the too-simple gameplay of ME1.

Im thinking bioshock 2 , im more into shooters and multiplayer, i also like like rpgs ME1 was great and ME2 looks also great but i still think Fps better so bioshock 2
