Your Cpu is your weak point and is not even overclocked or so it seems

I have to say that your vidcard is a hell of a good overclocker.  My opinion is very biased because i have the same card :p

The real potential of the card comes from maximizing your cpu and your overall system (fast ram, fast hdd). The card scales very well if you overclock your cpu.

My 3dmark06 score is 3476 with my current clocks (my cpu score is VERY low) , and it´s coming from a 3 years old system, except for the Bfg (1 year old).

Lol well i'd give it a 6 out of 10 still. The Ram is far behind in technology. Same with the Processor your motherboard works with AGP technology? PCI express x16 is the way to go. The Processor is no where near as good as the quad core technology currently around or even intel extreme. Even so the PC is still pretty good.

You can still play a game maxed out at 1024 x 768.  If he has his graphics settings at their highest, that's maxed.  The screen res has nothing to do with how "maxed" it is.  If he's on a 17" or 19" monitor, then he's fine and is maxing out his games.  He'll get the eye candy and the frames, how is that not maxed!?

Because higher resolutions make the game look better, so he is not playing it maxed out. A game maxed out means it cannot look any better, which means 1024 is not maxed.

No maxed out means maximum settings.  He mite not be able to make it look any better on higher res, thus he'd be maxed out by your logic.  He can run it maxed out at 1024 x 768, that's maxed out end of story.

Thats not maxed. I guess we all have to have 30" @ 25x16 DELL, Apple, HP monitors in order to play max.

Man, 1024x768 is hardly maxed. That resolution looks terrible no matter how many levels of AA/AF you churn out. In fact 1280x960 with low settings looks as good or better than 1024x768 on high to me. That is the whole reason I built a new pc, when I was forced to dip down to 1024x768 for R6:Vegas and Oblivion. I haven't used those resos since like the days of Wolf 3d and Doom. It takes so much less power to "max" games out at lower resolutions, and thats because they still look like crap. I'd consider 1600x1200+ with all the goodies on as "maxed". That has been like the holy grail of resolutions for a long time, and its even shifting to higher ones with how advanced the display tech is getting. If your monitor can't handle higher resolutions, you don't know what you're missing.

speaking of maxed out i'd say that my Cuircut City brand monator "Liquid Video" is a 17 inch monator. and when i mean max setting on games i mean the monators max reslolution possible on playing games. witch is 1280 X 1024 pixles and at 75 Hertz

i play all graphical setting on max and i have aniti antilising and the filtering on max.

But what was the software that you were talking about to use to overclock your hp!

Max would be 1280x1024 +
