Hey guys, just building a computer for my first time here. Thought I'd run by the specs with you guys before I check out. Anything wrong? Suggestions? I'm pretty much maxing out my budget as it is lol.
edit: whoops left my ZIP on there... s***

Well first off you need to change the motherboard to the right type and change the case so it can fit the video card. everything else looks good.

Lol thanks for pointing that out... I kept going back and forth between mobos because I wasn't sure what would support what. Alright thanks. Everything else okay?
Here you go, everything else looks ok.

the one you select is a great case but its fairly tiny... biggest card i think it can take is an hd 4850/9800gt .. and thats not by a whole lot..
Replace that case with the Antec 300. And this motherboard. Also, you really don't need 6gb of ram. 4GB is perfect.
Hope this helps, unsure of your budget, if I had say $1200 to spend I'd get something similar to this.
The only change I would make to the Build I put up above, is to get a Western Digital 500gb equivalent of that Spinpoint HDD, but that's just personal preference.
EDIT: I just did some research on the ATI HD 5830, it's actually a decent GPU, reviewcheck out the game benchmark charts, even at 2560x1600 this card does well in most games, and fair admirably against the 5850 and 5870, but with the motherboard choice above, upgrade paths are plenty!
Meh, I'd get rid of that case. IMO NZXT cases aren't that great. I've owned 2 in the past. Go with Cooler Master or Antec if you want an amazing case. Don't feel absolutely inclined to replace it though, it's just a case. The rest looks great. :)Revised list

no reason for an i7 go i5 or phenom II x4..

I assumed his budget was around $1200 considering his first post, and if you have that amount of cash, I say why not? What an awesome first rig it would be.

I would swap that case for a Coolermaster Storm scout, and change the ram for a OCZ 4GB (2x2gb) DDR3 1600mhz kit, because I'm pretty sure that AMD chipset/CPU does not support triple channel ram, only dual channel.
What is the budget btw?
My recommendation to you:
HAF 922 Case
Samsung F3 1TB HDD
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor
ASUS Blu-Ray Drive
G.Skill DDR3 1600 4GB Memory w/ ASUS M4A77TD Motherboard
XFX 5870 Video Card w/ Corsair 650TX Power Supply
Grand total: 1066.91
If you don't have an operating system to install, then here's a build within the same budget of 1100:
Cooler Master HAF 922 Case
Samsung F3 1TB HDD
ASUS M4A77TD Motherboard
Antec Earthwatts 650w Power Supply w/ $10 Promo Code 'add10'
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor
Microsoft Windows Home Premium 64-bit Operating System
ASUS Blu-Ray Drive
XFX HD 5850 w/ G.Skill DDR3 1600 4GB Memory
Grand total: 1055.46
Notes:
- Changed your case to one of the best mid-towers you can get in the market.
- Changed your hard drive to a faster one.
- Changed your 6gb triple channel kit for a 4gb dual channel kit as AMD processors do not support triple channel, and a typical gamer does not need any more than that.
- Changed your video cards to XFX ones, as they have a transferable lifetime warranty, which will only benefit you in the long run.
- Changed your power supply to more reliable ones (Corsair and Antec).
