I want to get a new laptop that is fairly competent in gaming. Problem is that I am very bad with telling how good a computer will be at running games. Right now I am betweenhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220796this, andhttp://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=product_customed&model_name=NP7130and I need help because I honestly have no idea how to tell if a computer is good or not. Also if you have any suggestions on a different laptop i could get that is better and also around $1000 that would be awesome.

Honestly, if you have any kind of extra room, you could take less than half that money and get a basic dual-core laptop with windows 7 for general web browsing - basic computing, and put the rest toward a gaming desktop. With a desktop you get a lot more price/performance value and the ability to upgrade parts later on all more cost-effective than a laptop. You may not want to hear it, but you would probably be better off.

I would go with this one, being slightly cheaper. The cpu isn't quite as good as the G60 but the gpu should make up for it. But you can't really go too wrong with either, imo.

Thats better, but you need to note, you lose 0.4inches of the screen but the resolution is much better. Its also about $200 more.

No, it weighs far too much, and shouldn't even be called a laptop, you will literally break your back carrying it around. Its also got an odd resolution, which games may not support.
