I'm willing to go around 1000-$1300, not including any extras, just for the tower. I wish there was somewhere posted that told me every part I would need so I can shop on my own. I feel a bit overwhelmed when trying to purchase parts and making sure everything is compatible with everything. I do know a little bit about computers so I don't feel worried about putting it together, but I've never tried picking out my own parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Up for suggestions. I forgot about buying the operating system seperately so would like to keep it around what it is now. Thanks.

great rig but since you can spend up to $1300 get at least a 6950 instead a 6870 ( not that is something wrong with 6870 on the contrary is a great card ) or a gtx560ti (448) Other than that it looks very solid build Another option is to wait for AMD to release theu 78xx series GPU ( AMD should release them within the next 1 month ) I will also suggest getting an aftermarket cooler like the coolermaster hyper 212+ ( one of the best bang for your bang coolers )

Spot on processor, I hear great things about it! Very similar to what I'm getting but why the overpriced motherboard? Assuming your not going to use SLI or Crossfire (which I plan on not doing) you can get a decent Z68 motherboard for 85 to 120 bucks (includes pci slot as well). Like the other guy said get AT LEAST a 6950 or a 560. I'm gonna buy my parts and use what video card I already have and wait for the 7850 and 7870s to be released.

I'm not entirely sure why I choose that motherboard, I think because it was in the 'best sold' section...but will look into dropping prices without harming performance wherever I can.

Try that. Fits within your budget, pretty powerful, should serve you well. The PSU is for the future, if you ever plan to SLI it's much more convient to buy the PSU for it now, as opposed to later. If you have no plans to SLI you can always use a lower wattage, cheaper, PSU.

THanks man I went ahead and snagged that steal lol. THat's the cheapest I've seen around. I paid 200 plus 3 bucks for insurance... not bad. Even got a nvidia GTX 570 evga for 270 bucks NEW. Couldn't resist the prices.

Wow, nice find and build. I might go with what you have as its cheaper than what I have put together.

ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Is there a disparity between these two? I could save almost $90.00 if I were to buy the ASRock instead of the ASUS.

Yeah unfortunetly I couldn't buy it from micro center because the nearest one is 3 hours away... which would probably cost me more then 20 dollars to drive there and back lol. The NCIX one is a good deal too if not near a micro center.
