I have a Budget, help me build a Rig!

I'm willing to go around 1000-$1300, not including any extras, just for the tower. I wish there was somewhere posted that told me every part I would need so I can shop on my own. I feel a bit overwhelmed when trying to purchase parts and making sure everything is compatible with everything. I do know a little bit about computers so I don't feel worried about putting it together, but I've never tried picking out my own parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Spot on processor, I hear great things about it! Very similar to what I'm getting but why the overpriced motherboard? Assuming your not going to use SLI or Crossfire (which I plan on not doing) you can get a decent Z68 motherboard for 85 to 120 bucks (includes pci slot as well). Like the other guy said get AT LEAST a 6950 or a 560. I'm gonna buy my parts and use what video card I already have and wait for the 7850 and 7870s to be released.

Try that. Fits within your budget, pretty powerful, should serve you well. The PSU is for the future, if you ever plan to SLI it's much more convient to buy the PSU for it now, as opposed to later. If you have no plans to SLI you can always use a lower wattage, cheaper, PSU.

THanks man I went ahead and snagged that steal lol. THat's the cheapest I've seen around. I paid 200 plus 3 bucks for insurance... not bad. Even got a nvidia GTX 570 evga for 270 bucks NEW. Couldn't resist the prices.

Yeah unfortunetly I couldn't buy it from micro center because the nearest one is 3 hours away... which would probably cost me more then 20 dollars to drive there and back lol. The NCIX one is a good deal too if not near a micro center.
